Boys and their mommies. Who's with me?
I get it now when people talk about boys with their mommies.
Cailen is my little protector. He is just barely over 3 feet tall, but he is my body guard. He watches out for me.
If I bump into something, or say "ow" if I do something, he is by my side immediately, hand on my shoulder, asking me if I'm OK.
If he is eating something, he holds it up to share with me.
He asks me if I'm cold. If I'm hungry.
If I drop something, he is under my feet immediately to retireve it for me. If I am doing anything, he asks if he could help.
He tells me over and over again how much he loves me.
Today I wore a dress to work. When I came home, I hung out with him a little, and then told him I was going upstairs to change for my run. He asked me if I could put that dress back on when I was done because I looked pretty in it
From the time he could talk, he would ask me if I was happy.
This child is always watching out for me.
He is such a sweet little man.
I hope it sticks as he gets older. Not really for me, but for whoever he loves someday. If he can hold onto this caring, protective nature as he gets older, he will just make the greatest husband
Hopefully his wife won't hate me and think he is such a mama's boy though

Luca can be like that at times and it completely melts me. I joke to DH that he needs to learn from DS because he gives the nicest compliments. Always tells me I'm beautiful.

I'm with you!
As much as I'd love to see what it'd be like to have a little girl one day, I have found immense joy in having a boy, more than I ever realized.

DS is only 12m so I probably have to wait for the rest, but this!
Oh and he gets so much joy, when I say "thank you, so much that was sooo good!"

I know - I'm like - it would be nice if DH noticed that I was wearing a pretty dress

Re: Boys and their mommies. Who's with me?
DS and I were walking in a parking lot over the weekend and holding hands. I stumbled in a pot hole and DS firmly held my hand and said it's ok mommy, I've got you. I completely understand what you mean.

OMG - Cailen was such a daddy's boy that when he started talking, he would call me "dada!" He refused to call me mommy!!!! He went trhough a major "Daddy only" phase.
I have to say, at almost age 4, he still has been gravitating to daddy (they are always wrestling and he loves that), but he saves the cuddles and kisses for me

Re: Boys and their mommies. Who's with me?
DS is such a mama's boy (not in a wimpy/whiney way). He just adores me and tells me how much he loves me all day long. The bond we have is amazing and I cherish every second of it. He has me wrapped around his pinky finger. I can never say NO to him. He just melts my heart!

Re: Boys and their mommies. Who's with me?
I totally get what you mean! DS is just abit over 2 yo. and whenever DH and I have a heated discussion DS holds on to me and yells 'NO' at DH. He takes my side regardless!
Or if I look sad, he goes 'Ok mommy?'

When I drop DS off at school/daycare - he says, "I love you Mommy" then he says, "I like you too". I think that means more!!!

Re: Boys and their mommies. Who's with me?
Oh, I am with you, Liza!!!! It all melts me. DS is more of a daddy's boy than a mama's boy but he still makes it so clear that he loves me. He knows when I am stressed (which I sometimes wish he didn't have to see) and he has this thing he does where he says, "I'll make you happy," and he gives a smile and his "happy making" noise.

Re: Boys and their mommies. Who's with me?
Its awesome to see the difference in dynamic between a son and their dad and a son and their mom.
My sons love to roughhouse with their dad and they just play differently with him.
With me, i get the kisses and hugs lol. If i pretend to cry they run over and pat my head. Ryan goes "no mommy, don't be sad.." and he kisses me until i smile.
I adore these boys. Thankful i have these little guys around me, especially when DH has to leave for work

Re: Boys and their mommies. Who's with me?
I love this thread! Before I had my boys, I knew nothing about boys so I didn't realize what a special relationship I would have with them. Obviously my boys are still young, but it's clear how much they love me already!

Re: Boys and their mommies. Who's with me?
DS is definitely not a momma's boy in any sense.... he's very independent, and squirms away when either DW or I try to hug him too much... He's only 7, so he can't stop us from doing it anyway, though....
He's affectionate when he wants to be, and makes cards and things for us, but nobody would claim that he's a momma's boy.

I love my boy and I can't believe I was so nervous to have a boy. Recently, he cups my face in his hand and gives me disgusitng open mouth kisses right on my lips.

Re: Boys and their mommies. Who's with me?
JJ is only 18 months but totally a mommy's boy. There are moments & days where all he wants it daddy, but when it comes to bedtime, he wants mommy to tuck him in.
If DH & I are joking around on the floor & DH tries to kiss me, DS will run over & push his daddy away just to give me kisses.
Nicholas, even though he is only 7.5 months is a complete mommy's boy. All I have to do is walk in the room & he smiles so big & follows me with his eyes until I come over & pick him up. If daddy tries to feeed him, he is looking over his shoulder for where mommy is.

DS is def a mamas boy, my DH can't even hold him if I'm in the room- I have to be the one holding him. We have the greatest bond, I really love that little boy!

Re: Boys and their mommies. Who's with me?
Justin is only 18 mos, but our bond is so strong. He is so sweet with me. I love when he's mushy and cuddly.
Sometimes I wonder if this strong love that I feel for him is so special because he is my child, or if there really is something to this mother-son bond that people talk about.
If my one child can make me feel that knock-me-off-my-feet love, I can only imagine what two children will do to me. I can't wait to have that feeling.
