Re: Boys and their mommies. Who's with me?
I can't wait for this. Some of these stories just make me
Currently DS is in a phase of I get hugs and kisses from mommy but its ALL ABOUT DADA!!! Dada when he wakes up, Dada when we are in the car and he realizes we are in our neighborhood going home, when Dada holds him and he gets passed to me, he screams bloody murder to go back to Dada, runs to the door saying Dada and tries to open the door. This makes me And then it's also all about Jun (Jr is our dog)...
Not much about Momma but I do get pleasure in that if we bring him in our bed in the early morning to cuddle he cuddles only with ME. I'll take a soar back and neck any day to have him cuddle with ME.

My oldest (almost 4) is like that and I hope his brother follows suit.
he ADORES me and when my DH and I argue he always comes to my defense
when I look nice he says "momma....you are a princess!"

Re: Boys and their mommies. Who's with me?
DS is 3. He is such a mommy's boy now--used to adore Daddy until I went back to work, and then it shifted. Tells me I am beautiful, he loves me, often says happily (when we're alone), "It's just you and me!" If I hurt myself, he says "poor Mommy," and if I have a band-aid he asks how my boo-boo is a lot.
It's adorable.

Re: Boys and their mommies. Who's with me?
Bryan is the same way. The more he is talking, the more of a helper/complimenter he has become.
I get told "Mommy, I love you" a ton of times a day. I get "Mommy, You're back, I missed you"! When I pick him up at school. If I even whisper "Ouch", he says "Are you OK?". If I sneeze, he's there to "Bless Me".
It's so awesome!

I'm totally with you!!
As I cuddle in bed with Thomas at night before he goes to sleep, he tells me he wants to always cuddle with me even when he's a grown up.

Re: Boys and their mommies. Who's with me?
I don't have boys, I have two girls. I have to say my girls are the same way with me. My older daughter is very protective of me, shares with me, hugs me and says "I got you mommy". Tells me she misses me when I pick her up from daycare or have been in another for a few minutes. Shares her food with me. Says don't cry mommy, it's ok, if she thinks Im hurt or upset. She was amazing to me when I had surgery. She would rub my legs, kiss my scar, and tell everyone mommy had a boo boo. She is only 2. My one year old isn't as verbal, but she is super affectionate, and she does the food sharing as well. I get so many hugs, kisses and cuddles from both of them. They melt me every single day.

I think it has become more pronounced since I became pregnant, and I wonder how the dynamic will change when our twins are born. I keep hoping that the strong bon DS and DH formed early on will help us all out.
I LOVE having a little boy and can't wait to have two more!
Thanks, Liza for making us all appreciate the little men in our lives

Re: Boys and their mommies. Who's with me?
my son is 23 and he's still a Mommy's boy even though he's a grown man. He will try to hold my hand if we are crossing a busy street or parking lot.
He always says "I love you" and he gets me the mushiest cards.
when he was little and I would take him shopping sometimes, he would wait outside the dressing room for me to come out and he'd say things that would crack the salesladies up, like "Mommy you look so thin" or "mommy that color looks pretty on you" LOL
as a pre-teen he would ride his bike to the florist to get me flowers for valentine's day. I was a single mom and my neighbors always told me they thought that was the cutest thing when they'd see him riding home with flowers for his Mom.
I once knocked on his friend's door to pick him up as a teen and another kid that I never met called me a "MILF" which we overheard as we were leaving and my son freaked out on him and made him apologize to me.
It never gets old

What a sweet feeling...
both of my boys are like this as well....I have NEVER felt more loved than I do when I am with them...boys are great!!!! I am due very soon with #3, and everyone's like, I bet you wish it's a girl....and I HONESTLY do not care either way....who would not want another little boy to love her unconditionally

Dawn - I have to say - even when Bry was a baby - I loved seeing the 2 of you together. You always had such a nice connection and he just always seemed to beam at his mommy!!!!
I'll never forget when we went to Doodlebops or whatever that show was, and he just leaned against your legs, holding onto them. It was so sweet!!!! You could just see how connected he was to you!!!

Re: Boys and their mommies. Who's with me?
Liza is right. Teddy totally went through a daddy phase and right now at 3 1/2 he is totally all about mommy!!!! Always asking if I am happy, he always wants to cuddle with me, and tells me I need to hug him more. Andrew is in his daddy phase. He thinks Daddy is a god.
