Baby in Ergo. My beach blanket rolls up and has straps, so it's easy to carry. Big bag with towel, toys and teeny tiny cooler (just enough for sandwiches and drinks). Skip the chairs. The only think I haven't mastered is the umbrella.

Re: Beach Alone-How

I only attempted it at beaches where the parking lots were close to the beach. I carried the stuff and let DD walk (on the beach, not in the parking lot). It took forever, but we eventually made it. I also used a beach mat and towels and skipped the chairs.

Re: Beach Alone-How

I tried last week, it was a crazy experience. You need 2 adults for one child ( DD is 11 months old)

Re: Beach Alone-How

You can definitely handle it. I take my 3 kids alone (well, we meet friends) but I lug everything alone. Bring a backpack and as little stuff as possible. Skip the chairs. Bring a bed sheet in the backpack, use small bottle coolers for drinks or just bring a few frozen water bottles with you. The kids get one pail and one shovel (they have to carry their own). Most importantly, so to the beach with the shortest walk. Good luck! Chat Icon

I went to the one in Farmngdale, Airport Plaza. They had it right next to the checkout. I actually went on Sunday on the way to the beach. It comes assembled you just have to pop the wheels on. Its great!!!

Re: Beach Alone-How

I went alone with DS to Smithpoint a month ago. He is 19 months old & I just packed very lightly, enough for one of my arms to be full & the other one open for when I needed to carry him. Have fun tomorrow!

Re: Beach Alone-How

We do it all the time. I started last year (I think I actually asked on here too).
This year dd is 3. I do not over bring though when I go alone. I use the beach cart. I don't bring the big hard cooler I use the soft ones and I have a huge beach bag for everything else. I love going. We go early though so we get a great spot

Last summer I would bring my jogging stroller, put her in it, and I could push that while also carrying my bag and chair.

This year she is more mobile, so I carry my beach bag and chair, and hold her hand while we walk. It's really not too bad.

Re: Beach Alone-How

We have the wonder wheeler and i pack all of the kids stuff in there and me and my DD's walk to the beach together where they find it fun to help me push/pull the cart with stuff.

I've also gone to beaches where the parking is right at the edge of the sand, so you park your car, unpack the stuff about 20 feet out from the car, and them bring my DD's to the blanket and toys.

I have a huge cooler bag (from bjs), bag, blanket that rolls up, and a chair that all have straps that I can put on my arms and back. That leaves my hands free to hold his hand! and even something else!

I did it all the time with Sean - with two of them even I'm not that independent !!

Leave the chair, you're not going to need it. If you have a HUGE beach bag, you can pretty much fit everything else in there ......

She only needs a few toys to occupy her. A sheet or blanket to sit on, sunblock, diapers/wipes and an extra set of clothes - I have a very small cooler bag that I put fruit, water etc in - and anything that doesn't have to be kept cold goes into my ginormous bag.

Beach Alone-How

I have 3 kids, 11, 6, and 3. I have a big beach bag that I put snacks and sandwiches in, and a few waters as well as towels and a beach blanket. I leave the cooler in the car with more waters in it. If my 11 year old Ds is with me he carries the bag, otherwise I carry it. I carry my chair. My Dds carry the mesh bag of toys. I sit right by a lifeguard, at the high tide line, and we usually last about 4-5 hours. I go to Robert Moses.

i did it all the time with two last year and this year i will eventually do it with 3...it is not as bad as ou think...

i did not have a cart..but i use my jogging stroller...i pile everything on that (bag, small collapsable cooler, few toys, blanket, towels, etc) and either carry or make them walk to where we set up!

the jogger's wheels if pulled glide over the sand real easy...dont forget baby powder and dry hange of clothes back at he car to "clean up" before heading home =)

good luck...have fun
