At what age was your EARLIEST memory as a child ?

Not ones that have been re-itterated to you by family members or photo memories , but a memory (even an insignificant one) that you personally can say that you recall happening ?

I'm going to say mine were around the age of 3'ish

Silly everyday life type things I remember, and specific toys I played with ...I remember my mom working the night shift and bringing me home a half of reuben sandwich from her dinner...My dad walking my brother and I in the stroller to Carvel (in Brooklyn), making my father fruit salad and making him eat it as soon as he walked in the door from work every day ...Hiding underneath our kitchen cabinet pretending to be Bugs Bunny eating raw spaghetti
My mom giving me a sugar water bottle

My DS amazes me with some of the things he remembers but I wonder how much of it will stick with him into adulthood....

I was about 3-4, and it was no a good memory. It was at my Uncles wedding, and it was time to go, so they were putting my snowsuit on and I was mad! I wanted to wear my poofy dress all the way home. I remember sitting on some ledge, or changing table, and fighting with my mother.

I feel bad for my mother that this is my first memory. But it is what it is.

Around 3. We had just moved into a new apartment and I was laying on the floor and I put a lifesaver in my mouth and choked on it. I remember my dad grabbing me off the floor and pounding on my back until it came up. I then remember throwing up all over the bathroom...I am pretty sure I only remember that because it put the fear of god in me...

It was the summer before I turned 3....

Remember the mouse trap game story? That's one of my earliest memories...

That and something about a swing in my yard at that same house...

Around 3....I remember moving into a new house, which we did when my brother was born, and I was 3 when he was born. I vividly remember sitting on a flowered couch in the new sunroom with my sister and brother, and I remember we were all eating candy.

I have a vivid memory from my 2nd birthday party, which was at our cabana at the beach. We had been trying to catch a frog all summer and we finally caught one that day. I remember it so well. We put it in this orange bucket, and I can still see it jumping up and down in the bucket. After that, I don't really recall anything till closer to 3, and it's a whole bunch of random things and moments and events after that.

I was 3 1/2. My little brother had just been born and my dad took me to the hospital to visit him and my mom.

My brother was in the nursery and a nurse was changing his diaper. She turned around to get a diaper and up shoots this stream of pee pee right on her back. I remember laughing hysterically.

I definitely remember some things from before I was 3, I would guess they happened sometime while I was 2, though I'm not sure exactly when. Mainly because we moved 1 month before my 3rd birthday, so I can date these memories based upon the house. They are vague though, I remember going to the park with my mother, playing with the "big" girls next door (who watched me for my Mom sometimes), and playing with my Flintstone cutouts. Some other things too, but all vague memories of day-to-day things.

One memory that is strong is the day I decided to wash my eyes with soap! I guess I thought I should wash my eyes also, needless to say I cried.

I think I have a crappy memory... probably not until 4-5 and still VERY vague!!

Does that mean we can screw up until 4? They won't remember anyway, right?

When I was 2 I remember my grandfather (who passed away 3 months after my 2nd birthday) would pull out his dentures and then I would try to pull out mine and I couldn't understand why I couldn't

i have none but i'm going to make a mental note not to scar my child after she turns 3...she'll remember and hate me for it

I clearly remember my mom and dad fighting late at night in the hallway of our apartment. I was 3. I also remember my mom telling me to get off of her, that I was too big (I was trying to sit on her lap). My aunt was present during this and told me that I was 3 years old then.

I remember my brother being born. I was three. I remember going to Toys R Us to buy diapers with my dad. And I remember his bassinet was in the kitchen.

I was 3 years old, just coming out of surgery/recovery for tubes in my ears. I just remember sitting in the hospital bed eating orange and green jello. I hated both of them. No recollection of pre-surgery but I do remember when they fell out.

My earliest memory was when my parents took me to see Santa in a mall. I was terrified of him even though he gave me a little plastic toy and I couldn't understand why my mom was forcing me to sit on his lap. I was screaming and hysterical. I remember I was wearing a bright pink sweater. I recently told my mom about this and she told me I was 2 years old when this happened.

My next memory after that was going to the hospital when my little brother was born....I was 3 1/2.

I was less than 1, I can remember my bedroom in my parent's apartment. I described to my mom what it looked like, and I also remember looking out the window to children playing downstairs on a playground.

The second oldest memory I have is when my mother had my brother. I was 2. I remember her walking towards me in a blue bathrobe in the hospital to look into the nursery window at my brother with me.

moving into our new home maybe 2ish 3.
at the time we were living in our old home but visiting our new home and one day i remember playing with playdoh and i said i want to go home mommy and my mom said we are home. i guess that was our move in day and we were going to spend the night there.

I was also about 3 years old and my father took me to the ground round for lunch. It had backless barrel seats well, I went to lean back and went all the way back. I smacked the back of my head so hard on that barrel. It hurt a lot. My other memory is me playing in the bathroom with my doll and brushing her hair.

I remember being up in the Adirondacks at this campsite beach we'd go to. They let me go change into my bathing suit w/ my parents' friends daughter, Teri, (who was about 11 at the time) at the changing house (little half wooden stalls)--it was maybe 1/2 block away from my parents/their friends (who were very close w/ us) on the beach.

I remember talking to Teri & then asking for help & she must have left (or wasn't answering me) & I got scared & ran out naked over to my parents on their blanket. Everyone was laughing (in a cute way, I was just about 3), but I started crying.

I also remember putting my brother's fingers in the pliers & squeezing it & my dad spanking me & couldn't believe I did it. I was maybe 4 & my brother was 2.
