Lets talk school age summer child care

What do you do with your school age child if you are a working outside the home parent?

I have 3 days covered, but 2 days between 2:30-5:30 I am stuck.

Not sure if I should put him in something or just take my chances and piece it together with a relative or friend here in there.

I hate to pay when it really only comes down to 3 hours, for 12 days (when you subtract vacation time).

But the peace of mind might be worth it.
But I can use to save some moneyChat Icon

What are you doing? WWYD?

I really don't think you will find a camp program with those hours. Most of them end at 3 or 4, but often have an aftercare program for children that attend the day program. Maybe you can hire a high school student or someone to come to you to babysit?

My son is going to camp where DD goes to daycare and I'm thrilled that I won't be driving all over the universe picking up and dropping off!

I know wherever I find, I will need to put him full day, I have a couple options nearby that are open to 6.

But I am toying with taking the risk of not having something steady, getting sitters here and thereChat Icon

Camp is ridiculously expensive for school aged kids UNLESS you manage to get into your district summer program. Our district has one - but I found out late and it was all filled up.Chat Icon

I am considering 2 summer camps and 1 at home option. Both of the camps have part time available - Chatterbox and the YMCA.

Good luck!
