Anyone hoping for twins???
I am...and I do not keep it a secret.
Twins run in both of our families...my father has a fraternal twin and DH's mother has an identical twin. I have read that twins come more by chance and also helps if your mother or mother's mother had twins.

I have always wanted twins!
I find it amazing to grow up with someone the same age as you & to be going thru all the same stuff.
We have no history of it in our family though.

I'm the opposite- I'm terrified of having twins! My mother has told me that they do run in the family. I'm not sure that I'm strong enough to be a mother to twins! The idea of having 2 kids in general still scares be a bit, but the idea of having two the same age...

I'm not sure!  I'm a twin & love it, but I don't know if I can handle 2 at once!!! We were a handful growing up!
It runs on both sides of my family (it skips every few generations though)...my dh's mom was a twin too, so who knows? I'm back & forth, so mother nature may make the decision for me

Runs on both side of my family as well. My dad's a twin and my grandmother on my mom's side is a twin.
Before I had DD, I wished for twins. But just thinking about twins with a toddler is scary.

ME!
I was a twin (but my twin miscarried) and my mom was a twin but they were born premature and her twin didn't make it.  So the survival rate is low for one twin. I am hoping that is not the case for us if we have twins.

No. Twins scare the bejesus out of me! I can't even watch that show, John and Kate Plus 8, b/c I have nightmares about having 10 at once and my life never ever being the same again. I'm hoping to tackle one, and then move on from there.

I do do want twins.
I am a twin and twins run on both DH and I side.
So who knows Fraternal twins run on both sides.
DH knows I would love to have twins but I think he is alittle scared if that should happen.
I have a twin fraternal sister who is expecting her first baby  the 15th of july.
If my pic comes up she is to the right of me from my wedding in 06

Every since I was younger, I use to say I want twins!!! For me though, I would like a boy & girl this way I am done...DH thought I was nuts when I first told him this but I think twins are a true blessing...We do have twins on my side of the family...

When I was a kid, but now I hope that NEVER happens to me. I have one and am scard to have another!
It's like this, I have her trained already, I have to start all over again from scratch?!?!?!? I worry about everything, can I do it again, will I ignore my DD when the new baby gets here?
So twice that, nope, can't even fathom!

I was secretly thrilled when my RE recommended a more aggresive treatment plan for my IF issues. I would be THRILLED with twins

It's funny, I was dead set against having twins, too much overload, but since I have been trying for a year now, twins will be nice because then I wouldn't have to go down this IF road again.

Im starting clomid today and dr told me there is an increase chance of twins and i have to say.... im VERY worried about that.

I would like to have twins, but for personal reasons at the moment, I hope I don't have twins.
Fraternal twins are maternally hereditary - a woman can have a predisposition to release more than one egg at a time. Identical twins are for lack of a better term, a freak of nature and not hereditary. It's just chance that the egg will split in two. So you're only really more likely to have twins if another woman that you're blood related to has had fraternal twins.
My DH is an identical twin, my father's grandmother had twins, my father's sister has identical twins and my mother's brother has fraternal twins - but I'm not any more likely than anyone else to have them.
