Some people don't realize. Depends on how you have your account set up I think. So it may not be personal. It actually really doesn't serve a specific practical purpose on here. I have a few, people I have chatted with. But you sort of just forget it's an option b/c you can't do much with it.

I don't get the whole "My Friends" thing. It doesn't seem to serve a purpose, just waste space.
To answer the OP's question, I wouldn't get offended, but then again, I've never requested someone to add me as a friend.

No ..and also the friend requests always end up in my spam email, so sometimes I find them there 4 months later.
I dont even pay attention to them to be honest.

I think that I either checked off something so that I would not get e-mails from LIF, or they go into a junk folder. I just checked and I had a friend request that was pending since early November. I never knew that the request was there. That was from SweetCin, who I would never reject as a friend!! So I finally added her as a friend tonight!!!!

Ha Ha I had friend requests from last March sitting there!! I had no clue that they were there. I didn't realize that you just had to check it on your own. I was neve notified about these requests.

I think I did once or twice, but I didn't realize that most people don't have their preferences set to be notified of a friend request.

hmmmm thats weird, I get an email telling me I have a friends request waiting for me, and I also get an email when a friend has accepted me. the email comes to my personal email that i used to set up this account
A lot of times, that notification e-mail gets sent directly to my junk mail folder which I don't check very frequently.

My LIF FM & friend notices go to my junk folder, which periodically gets tossed, whether I see them or not. Maybe that's what happened? I wouldn't be offended.

I don't get offended over something like that. Way to frivilous of a thing to let it irk me that much.
If you are "real" friends with them why not just ask them? And if you are "real" friends with them why do you care if they accept a silly invitation on a website it's not like that is the foundation of your freindship and is going to make or break it.

One thing I would like to add about the friends section is that I wish the site would make it that when someone does request you as a friend that their name is hyperlinked to their profile. That way I can actually researcha person and really decide instead of just accept or deny as options
