I can't even imagine how difficult today must've been for you, but it does sound that you and your DH have good reasons to be hopeful, and I am glad for that. I too know several children who have had holes in their hearts - 1 closed on its own before birth, 1 closed on its own after birth, and 1 did require surgery but all 3 are healthy and happy little girls today!
My thoughts and prayers continue to be with you! 
Thank you! I truly hope we are one of the fortunate ones that this hole closes up on it's own!!

FWIW, I was born with a VSD and mine closed up by the time I was 5.
Thank you for sharing!! It's inspiring to hear of so many people affected by VSD's who overcame it.

Thank you so much for taking the time to update! You are so strong and I am so happy to hear how everyone is treating you so well through this. I hope you continue to get good news and everything is ok with your little bean.
With all that you're going through, are you still going to remain team green? I couldn't even imagine!
I want to hug your DH for how good he is being!! I'm so glad the doctors are so nice and helpful, too! Continued good thoughts and vibes your way!!
Thanks for your thoughts & prayers Sandra! I'm so grateful for DH these past few days and for how great all the doctors have been that I've seen so far, it makes all this somewhat bearable. And yes, we are going to remain team green! I'll be honest I had a moment today where I was feeling so upset (after the amnio) I felt like caving and saying "just tell me the sex" so I could relish in some sort of good news at least!! But, I stayed strong and thought to myself after all this if we are faced with any issues we have to deal with right away at birth, it will be nice to have the gender surprise at that point too. It is so hard to not find out though!!

VSD is more common than mostpeople think. This is truly good news. I wish you and your hubby all the best in this difficult time.. Sounds strange, but you know, coming to theboards is a great way to get support. Just know that we are here to support you..

My niece had the same thing. . .it healed on its own after birth. . .she is now an ACTIVE (somewhat) normal kindergartener  please let me know if you have any questions and I will ask my MIL if she remembers any more information.
Praying for continued good news

Thanks! I agree there are so many wonderful women on these boards and it's so comforting when people can share their own experiences so you know that you can make it out of this okay, and you have someone to ask questions when you're feeling overwhelmed. I can't tell you how helpful all the responses and FM's have been so far!!

Not at all! She plays soccer and is very active - never showed any signs of lethargy or anything like that. . . we forget ALL the time that she had that which is crazy bc at the time it seemed like (and was) so scary!

I'm very happy to hear you got some good news. I've been thinking about you a lot since i saw your post yesterday! Let's hope everything goes away on its own as the cardiologist said might happen!

Yes I've been saying how grateful I am that we can find out about this stuff midway through pregnancy instead of at birth! Especially since the doctor said at this point the baby's heart is the size of my thumbnail, amazing what they can already see!
All day long I've been waiting for Northshore Manhasset to call me to come in, so annoying! I'm debating whether I go into work tomorrow or waste another day staring at my phone and waiting for it to ring. I keep following up w/ my OB's office but they can't force NSUH to call me.....I was hoping to see them before the weekend, hopefully they call soon!!
**update! they called me at 4, I'm going in at 8am tomorrow to the ante partum testing unit.

oh my goodness, your story brought tears to my eyes. I'm praying for your little one.
Let your husband be there for you. It's perfectly OK to cry to him. He's probably holding feeling in and you guys need to be there for each other.
