this sounds very similar, if not the same thing as something that someone i work with's DD has. I will talk to her tomorrow and ask her, maybe she can refer you to somone, or lend some extra support.

I am so very sorry, Helen! Despite whatever hurdles your baby may have to overcome, he or she is already ahead of the game bc you and your DH are already such strong and positive parents. I will keep all of you in my prayers in the days ahead.

Oh helen, im so so sorry. I sincerely wish u werent dealing with all of this. Its not fair. I wish i had the 'right' words to say but i know i dont. Just remember we are all here to support u, fm me anytime for the best case scenario.

My neighbor's son has this (at least I believe it's what he has) -- we are not close but our babies were born about 2 months apart and another neighbor tells me about them all the time. He was given a prognosis and expectation to only live a few months after birth but has defied all odds to date. He is definitely developmentally delayed, but he's still here and he does smile a lot.
I cannot even imagine the pain you are going through and I wish you strength and to be surrounded by love through all of this. I hope your husband gets home soon.
Thanks Sandra....would you mind asking your neighbor (or someone who knows their situation) if he has dandy walker malformation? Or the variant form? I feel like that's the only hope I have right now, is that we have the one that's the "better" of the two.

My neighbors (the gossipy ones) are in FL right now but I will ask as soon as they are back. I will also ask another neighbor who may know and get back to you.
Keep getting info, as much as you can, and the doctors will help you ever step of the way. The rest of us will keep praying. Our hearts are all with you.

Wow... Just read all this... I can absolutely identify with laying there and getting all that bad news.... and then a going for another opinion to get the bad news confirmed.. It was just HORRIFIC  I consider my entire experience absolutely traumatizing. I was in a VERY different situation though. Our son's condition was not at all what you are dealing with, but we ultimately lost the pregnancy 8 days after finding out about the problems I'm not sure how much support I could be since I never got the chance to have my baby, but I can definitely sympathize with the crazy roller coaster of appointments and the feeling that you are just no longer human  I literally detached myself from reality just to get by... and pretended I was watching my life on a tv screen. Living in the moment was just so hard. To the extent that I could offer any support at all, please feel free to FM anytime!

You know how you always hear about cases where a dr tells the parent your child is gonna have xyz problems and the child is born completely healthy? That's what I pray your situation is like. Love you mama! Be strong for your little miracle :) I'm here is you need to talk!
