Another mass shooting...church in TX

"The man who killed more than 20 people at a small Texas church escaped from a mental health facility five years ago after sneaking guns onto an Air Force base and making threats against commanders, according to a police report.

Devin Patrick Kelley's June 2012 escape from Peak Behavioral Health Systems in New Mexico occurred months after he was accused of abusing his ex-wife and her child, according to an El Paso Police Department report obtained by CNN affiliate KVIA on Tuesday. "

Same old same old till the next mass shooting.

If 20 murdered 1st graders, and now, what 15 children? dead hasn't done anything, nothing will.

A lot has been done, and none of it has worked.
We need to find an actual solution to the problem, and no one can come up with a viable plan. Every little bit helps save one person, I am sure. But, more restrictions will be passed, reforms will be made and when the next mass shooting happens, people will still claim "we are doing nothing".

So what is your suggestion? We just sit around and not pass restrictions? If a restriction saves atleast one life then I am all for it.

I am all for strict restrictions, as long as they're effective and constitutional. Every time I think of a viable plan, I get shot down by our Constitutional protections. I believe hat the AR-15 would never have been civilian-adapted or issued, as well as guns like an AK47 etc. The assault weapons ban should ever have been lifted.

Do not imply that I want do just "sit around and do nothing". It's just that most actions people suggest will not prevent the next mass shooting. An expert needs to step in with a good plan to address the situation. I do not have a iable solution to eliminate the illegally owned firearms that are hidden all over the US

3 reasons why civilians need guns.

protection
hunting
sport

NONE of the reasons listed require guns used in these mass shootings.

AND...when the he!! are people going to put responsibility on the manufacturers??? Listen, I get it. People kill people. Guns do not pull their own triggers. People need to take responsibility, blah blah blah.

But the gun manufacturers have a friggin responsibility here. NOT to manufacture or distribute weapons that can so easily be modified into automatic weapons that can spray hundreds of bullets in minutes.

They make guns that are within legal limits but then make accessories that can turn the guns into something illegal. Where is their sense of responsibility?

I read somewhere that the creators of the atomic bomb and dynamite regret their inventions. They didn't feel it was right to give people the ability to wipe out lives within seconds. Their morals got to them.

But the gun manufacturers...where the eff are their morals?

Just because you CAN create a weapon that can obliterate a hundred lives in minutes doesn't mean you SHOULD!

Sadly, any time anyone wants to talk about research into mass shootings, the Republicans and NRA want to block it.
Maybe, if they could allow it, we could find more effective ways to stop this from happening over an over. But heaven forbid we say the gun MIGHT be a problem. Hell, lets just give away guns at birth so we can all protect ourselves. More guns is clearly the answer. Chat Icon
