Registered DD for K today

And it made me so sad. My little baby isn't a baby anymore. At least I managed not to cry in the office.
I'm excited for her but I want the last 4.5 years back to savor it all a little more...anyone else a sap with this stuff?

Oh Lordy...We're going on Tuesday to register her for pre-k and I'm a mess. I know she's going to love it but it makes me so sad.

Ugh! I have to register the twins next week! Not looking forward to this! I cried just printing out the paperwork!!


On a side note, does anyone know if the health forms have to be filled out at the time of registration? I have to remember to call the district and ask on Monday while the kids are in school. I am bringing the kids to the dr on Sunday but was told I had to leave the forms for a few days to be filled out.

It broke my heart when I registered my DD a few years ago. Wait until the first day..... ..........I was an absolute mess. It's a tough transition, more for us as moms then them. My DD did fine, me.........not so much!!

I was a hot mess all last summer.

The day before school started I cried for hours.

She did great. Me, not so much!

I am goign to look at a school Sunday for him. I am not one of those crying type people but this is def hitting me hard.

Thanks, glad I am not alone in my insanity!
Forget this summer and when school starts. I can't even go there yet. I have anxiety just thinking about it...and then the thought of the bus.

I have to register in March and I can't believe it. I'm more sad/scared about DD taking the bus.

I am also registering my DD in March and I am so sad and scared. I cried when I got the paperwork in the mail. I know I am going to cry the day I register her. Forget about the days leading up to her first day and her actual first day - I am going to be a mess.

The thought of my baby in this big scary school with so many places to get lost and the possibilities of bullies - I could cry just thinking about it.

Kindergarten is really hard..my ds was in his pre school class up until the day before he started k I burst into tears when I picked him up it was seriously embarrassing. Luckily I must have got it all out cause when I dropped him off the next day I managed to keep it together. They do way better than we do!

OK ladies so I just want to come back as a "veteran" Kindergarten mommy. (Now that DD has been doing it a whole 5 months!)

If you go back and find my posts leading up to K you will see I was EXACTLY like all of you. I was not ok about it in the least, not ok about the bus, not ok about not knowing she arrived, etc.
I was a mess. Just a mess. I was not good for weeks.

Day 1 came and I was so nervous but held it together for DD (I was a hot mess the night before, after she went to bed)

She got on the bus, no issue, smiling, not scared, all excited.
All day I had a knot in my stomach.
330 comes, I go back to the bus, she comes BOUNDING off, all excited, smiles, thrilled.

And she hasn't looked back since. She loves school every single day. Was so upset when we told her she was off the whole week after Christmas. Actually upset over being on vacation. She couldn't wait to go back.

I think back on how worried I was, and how much stress and anxiety I had, and I can't believe how well it worked out.
People told me (Like I am telling you now, that it would be harder on me than her, yada, yada, yada) but I didn't believe it until I went through it.

And you will too. So i won't tell you not to get stressed, etc- because you will.
But I will tell you, that your child will AMAZE you and before you know it, it will be like they were always there.

I registered mine yesterday. I taught Kindergarten and it STILL doesn't make it any easier!

I was a total wreck for months leading up tp my dd going to Kindergarten. At her pre-k graduation I did a lot of crying. I sobbed the night before her first day, followed the school bus to make sure she got there.

Everyone said she would do fine and she did. She loves going to school, cried when school was closed for Christmas break. She can't wait for Monday morning to come so she can go back to school. Its way harder on mom than the kids Always!
