The will feel more pain??? Do people really believe this?
When it gets done at 6+ months it is done at a hospital and the child is put under anesthesia
That's not because that's when they magically start to feel pain at that point. It's hurts just as bad on day 1 as it does at 6 months.
I think the poster just meant that it is more of a procedure for the baby then. Which is fact.
They came and asked me the next am (I had it done tho)
Yes thanks that is exactly what I meant by sharing whar the procedure is like at 6 months old (or post newborn). I did not state that they feel more or less pain at any point - I don't even know where that started

Re: If you did NOT circumcise?
Thanks everyone for the replies and sharing your experiences. Since everyone else in my family has circumcised their sons, I really didn't have any clue what would happen at the hospital regarding this...bc everyone just acted like they come and take the baby to be circumcised and then bring them back and it's very routine.
I'm glad to hear that the majority of you weren't pressured at all, and that all they do is ask and thats that.

The feel more pain comment came from here:

Just be sure you REALLY dont want to do it. If you leave hospital & change your mind, they cant do it until baby is 6 months & they will surely feel more pain at that point. You will have to have baby put under anesthesia. We had both twin boys done without issue"
You quoted what I said(in response to the "feel more pain" comment) and deleted her original post, loosing what I was originally referencing about the pain. You were not the one that mentioned pain but since you quoted me and you were responding to my statement I assumed you sided with the pain comment. Sorry for that! But if you didn't agree, I don't see what my shocked response was quoted by you confusing
Either way, sorry I assumed. I just misunderstood when I was quoted

Yah!!! DS is uncirced and we never mentioned it until he was born and I said on the table NO Circumcision and then reminded at every turn. My ob kept asking...and then when we would say no she would say "oh ur jewish, doing it at a bris? We not not jewish and was offended she kept thinking thats the only reason anyone would laeave hosptial with uncircd child.
