Re: Childcare question
Not at all! DD was in daycare part time from day 1. DH worked a rotating schedule and watched her either 2 or 3 days per week depending on his work schedule. She was never confused. She adapted just fine

Re: Childcare question
Not at all. My DD started a similar routine at 10 weeks old. She goes to daycare 3 days a week, my mom watches her one day and my FIL watches her another day. She is now 14 months and has no problems with the variety in routine. In fact, people always comment at how social, friendly and adpatable she is. I attribute that greatly to the variety in her schedule.

Childcare question
Ok so great to hear! I guess I was worried tht the daycare woul have their routine and I know my MIL is going to spoil him in ways the daycare won't...
So for those of you who do this or did this- any tips on making it successful??
I am really going to try and get DH to agree. It's just a suggestion at this point - I think he wants her to watch him FT but I would like him to get the socialization at daycare with other people... By then he'll almost be three months.
Thanks again ladies!!

Mostly the same for us. My boys always stayed home with Daddy one day and went to daycare the other 4. It's really no different than being in full time daycare and being home on the weekends.

Childcare question
DS started daycare at 8 weeks and went t & th. we then added in wed. His daycare routine kind of set the other days. He naps at the same time no matter where he is. I say just try to keep meal times the same.

Re: Childcare question
I don't think so. That's what we will be doing with DS. He will only be going to day care 1x/week. MIL and FIL will be watching him the other days.

Re: Childcare question
This is exactly what I do right now, except my kids' time is split between an in-home sitter and daycare/preschool.

No, I see no problem with that all! In fact, you're lucky to have such a nice MIL to help out

Re: Childcare question
I agree with everyone..not a problem at all. My twins are at my parents 3 days, with a sitter one day and with me on Fridays. If anything I think it taught them to be easygoing. I know I can bring a pack n play anywhere (vacation) and they will nap and sleep great

For me, I found it important to be flexible. I kind of let daycare do what worked best for them bc she is up so early for her and might be in a different mood than I am used to. When she is home with my mom or FIL I make them stick to my schedule.
For example, on daycare days DD is up at 630am, at daycare by 650am. She has her bottle, breakfast and plays a bit. Naps about 9-1030 (This nap kind of makes up the sleep she would be missing if at home). Plays, has lunch and bottle. Naps about 12-130. I pick her up at 4 then go home and she naps again about 415-545.
When she is home she sleeps until 830ish, eats, bottle. Naps 10-12. Up, lunch, bottle, plays. Naps 3-5.
If she has daycare the next day she is in bed by 730. If no daycare the next day bed is at 8. She has no problem adjusting between the two.

Re: Childcare question
That is exactly what we did when DS was a baby. Now we have a sitter three days and my inlaws watch both our kids the other two days. I think it works fine.
