Is everyone on prenatals?
Is everyone here on prenatal vitamins? I'm not but I do take a womens multi vitamin everyday. When I told my gyno I was no longer on the pill she told me I should take prenatals.
Maybe I'm overly relaxed or maybe it's because I don't consider myself to be ttc but rather "just not actively preventing pregnancy"... but are prenatals really necessary at this point? I just think about all the babies that were conceived by accident and came out fine!

Best scenario is you'd be on prenatals for at least 3 months before you got pregnant. If you aren't preventing pregnancy, it'd be wise to be taking prenatals. There's no reason not to take it - there's nothing in there harmful if you aren't pregnant.

I started taking them when I was in the whatever happens happens mode. It's no big deal to take them for me since I just subbed them for the multi-vitamin I was already taking. At minimum I would take a multi-vitamin. I get my prenatals at Target for $4.

I take a regular multi with a folic acid and DHA supplement. I did this all through my first pregnancy too. Prenatals do not agree with my stomach.

You should be on prenatals! Prenatals have things in them a regular multivitamin doesn't. You said your are not actively TTC, but not on BC so if you have an "oops" you want to make sure your baby is getting the nutrients especially colic acid from the start.

Yes ma'am! You should be taking them. Some women are naturally deficient in certain important vitamins so it's better to be safe than sorry.

Yes, I have been taking a prenatal mutlivitamin and a DHA supplement for a little over 3 months. My Dr said the most important thing is making sure to take between 800-1000 mcg's of folic acid. Your vitamins are prob fine but you may need more folic. HTH

My dr said prenatals were not necessary until my bfp and that a reg multi was fine. she did tell me however to take folic acid while ttc because you need that in your system for early development

I was taking a multi, an extra folic acid pill and a fish oil pill. When those ran out I switched to prenatals. I'd make the switch when you get your BFP.

The most important thing to start taking before you are pregnant is follic acid because it is responsible for spine and brain development which start to develope WAY early in pregnancy.
Please follow the instructions given by your Dr. They know what they are talking about and what you need should you get pregnant.

I take the gummies- they don't have as many vitamins as the pill ones but I know I will forget to take the pills. The gummies are delicious- like candy. I actually look forward to taking them everyday!!
