DD1 was Frank Breech.

I've been hoping that this little girl doesn't give me the same problem.

I'm 29w3d now and I *think* she may have turned into the dive position.

How do you know for sure?

I read about belly mapping and other sites that say things about how to tell but none of them take into consideration if your baby is in a Frank Breech position.

Here is why I think she turned, tell me what you think:

With DD1 I never felt any movement below my belly button b/c her head, hands and feet were all up near my ribs. With DD2 I feel punches down in my bladder.

With DD1 I never had an urge to go to the bathroom 100 times a day but recently I do with this pregnancy. I have to pee every 30 minutes which is completely out of character for me and most times it's just a trickle.

The biggest indicator is that the position websites say "kicks are harder than punches". I get a lot of soft "punches" really far down low (into my bladder, ovaries and what feels like my cervix, lol). I have a lot of fierce "kicks" up high by my ribs (like if my arm is resting on my belly and I get kicked my arm will move).

I also have a hard round bump in the middle of the top of my belly. I had it with DD1 also, it was her head. I'm hoping this time it's her tush.

I plan on asking my OB next week when I see him. I was just wondering if anyone has had a similar experince.

I really don't want another c/s and I'm wondering if all these "head down" signs are true or just wishful thinking.

TIA!

When my dd was head down I was in a lot of discomfort. She was pressing on my bladder and cervix. I felt lots of weird movement down there and when she hiccuped it felt like my vag was dancing lol.
DS was frank breech and it was soooooooo obvious. I cold watch him stretch and shee his head moving. It was a big lump like you described. I felt a lot of moving and the hiccups were really high like my boobs were dancing lol. He tried to roll a few times, but there was no room and he would try to roll from the front of my belly down. It hurt so freaking bad and my skin was so stretched from it. I really didn't have anything down low since he was in half. All the movement was up high or on my sides when he would move his hands.

I just went through this over the past 4 weeks. At 27 + 6, DS was Frank Breech. I went back at 32+5 last week and he was head down!!!

I very rarely felt him before. I felt a lot of pressure on my bladder all the time (apparently that's where his butt was resting) and very little movement. During the day at some point between 31 and 32 weeks I felt a TON of movement one day! I had been doing all these spinning baby techniques (mostly sit with my knees up on a soft ottoman and then I'd put my hands on the floor in kinda a downward dog for 30 seconds then with my arms on the floor in a weird sort of plank move for another 30 seconds). I also did ice up at the top of my belly.

My OB tried to feel for it on Tuesday last week and he thought he was still feeling the head up by my belly button but I actually thought he might be wrong. When you feel the head, and you press, it bounces back. I didn't find it quite the same (but I thought maybe it was just wishful thinking). At the sono place, she said it was actually his KNEE my OB was feeling in that spot!

My OB finally agreed to let me have a follow-up u/s next week at 34 weeks to see his position because I've been flipping out since finding out about the Frank Breech. I had gone for a 3D u/s for an anniversary present together and that's how we found out at all. My OB doesn't do any u/s after 20 weeks usually. I feel lucky we knew at all, even if it wasn't because of my efforts he turned.

I still don't feel a lot on my left side. I can feel his butt and his back over there and it's usually very hard. When his head was up, the top of my belly was mushy and soft most of the time, even when I had BH contractions. Now, the top is pretty hard. I'm also feeling a lot more movement now.

Hope he helps! I looked at babyspinning.com and that helped me feel somewhat in control. I was also planning to go to a chiro and acupuncturist if he didn't flip by 35 weeks. I'd do anything to avoid a c/s. My midwife at the practice even mentioned a version and I would've entertained that idea as well.

They say they flip MUCH later 2nd pregnancy because they have so much room in there. Didn't comfort me, but apparently 80% will flip by 36 weeks. Nothing really comforted me. I'm still not feeling all that comfortable he's in the right position but I'll find out next week. Then I'll start doing descending techniques... heck if I'm letting him go back up there!!!

Good luck!!!
