How does this work...OPK as HPT???
Can someone please enlighten me? I don't understand....since the OPKs measure the lutenizing hormone, does this mean that when you are pregnant your LH stays high? And, will it still work if I use the CBEFM?

They work because LH and HCG are very similar in chemical structure - think of LH as being like an X, and HCG being like X+, so an OPK will detect the X part of the HCG hormone and be positive.
So if you know that you have O'd already, SOMETIMES (not always) OPKs will work as an HPT and be positive or close to it.
No clue about the CBEFM, though, sorry!

Cool thanks. I guess though that positives would show up later on an OPK than an HPT since I'm imagining that they aren't as sensitive (they detect surges and not presence, right?). Anyway, thanks. Now I can obsess even more and plow through my remaining sticks (at the 8dpo that I am  )

I think OPKs will pick up HCG at higher levels so it will work if you are further along.
