Last night I bought my niece's first halloween costume, so it got me thinking about halloween.
What was your favorite memory of Halloween as a kid? What are you most looking forward to about Halloween with your LO? (If you already have a DC, what is your favorite part of Halloween with them?)
When I was little my mom never let us buy costumes...she would always make them herself. I was always a little jealous of the kids who could buy them....but looking back our costumes were always way more creative. My favorite memory was when I was in my little raggedy Anne costume and I won "Cutest" in a costume contest. I think i was like 4 or 5 yrs old
I am looking forward to putting my LO in adorable costumes and taking pictures as they go from house to house. I think it will be adorable to see them so excited!

I loved the Halloween party in school and the parade. I loved going home and going trick or treating and then getting home and dumping all of my candy out.

It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown! I love the holiday classics and watching the scary movies-what I can see of them through my fingers since I always cover my eyes! This will be DD first Halloween and I can't wait to put her in her costume and take her trick or treating

This is my favorite memory....I would go out w/my brother for a bit & we would fill up 2 huge pillow cases. I also remember being about 13 yrs old and meeting up w/all the other kids in our age group. We would spray each other w/shaving cream, silly string.....its sad that b/c kids got violent and destructive, fun like that is no longer allowed.
For my future DC I'm looking forward to making costumes for them, decorating our home...taking halloween pics. I am also very excited for taking them trick or treating....Def one of my fav holidays!!!!

Halloween was always cool when i was a kid... but when i got older even bombing got old...
it wasnt until my niece was born on Halloween that i started to enjoy the holiday again... Shes going to be 16 this year... yikes...

Same for me.
This will be DD's 4th Halloween, but the first one she was only 2 months old, so there wasn't anything to really do! Each year it's been awesome to watch her excitement as she gets dressed up, meets up with her cousins and runs to get all the candy from the houses!!

I am very excited for this Halloween. Last year DS was only 7 weeks old during Halloween so he didn't get to enjoy it much. This year he will get to go trick or treating (don't think he will understand the concept but at least we can go door to door). I am looking forward to the years when he tells me what he wants to be and I will *attempt* to make it for him! To the OP, I think it's SO sweet that your mom used to make your costumes!

My parents together made the best costumes, and let me be whatever I wanted. I wanted to be french fries one year, a bottle of mustard another, a star. They are the most creative and dedicated parents ever, I hope to inherit a quarter of that.

My favorite Halloween memory was when my dad took me trick or treating. My mom always took us b/c my dad was always at work but my mom had the flu or something and my older sisters when with their friends so I was so afraid I wasnt going to be able to go. I was probably only 7 or 8. My dad took off from work and took me and I remember having so much fun with him!
I am looking forward to Halloween but I am a little nervous about taking candy from strangers. I dont think I want my kids to eat candy at all but when they get older it will probably be out of my hands.

My favorite memory was going trick or treating with my best friend. Our moms would take us and we always had so much fun running around the neighborhood for hours collecting candy.
I'm looking forward to taking furture DC trick or treating and finding the perfect halloween costume every year.
