Re: epidural- thoughts???
Posted by Bearcat
ok i am a bit clueless here. serious question, cause i really don't know... why would one NOT have an epidural? is there a risk or something?
thanks
I dont know the exact answer to this question but Im assuming some woman are aganist it because it is like putting drugs into your body and there are some risks for doing so. Im assuming thats the reason, if someone disagrees or wants to add to that please do Oh, and some believe it is painful, however, Im almost sure the delivery might be more painful then the needle.

Re: epidural- thoughts???
I'm definitely getting one. I have very low tolerance for pain as it is.

Re: epidural- thoughts???
I want to try w/o one, my mom never had one, but obviously we'll see what happens. There are two reasons I don't want one 1) it can slow down labor actually making things worse and 2) I often have bad reaction to drugs- the opposite of what they say will happen.

Re: epidural- thoughts???
I'm not sure what I am going to do. I would ideally like to have a natural child birth, but I'm keeping my options open...we'll see.

Re: epidural- thoughts???
I really think I would have thrown myself out of the window of Good Sam if I didn't have the epi. I have no idea how women do it, especially with back labor like I had.

Re: epidural- thoughts???
I have no experience with this yet but I think I will get one. I freak out when I give blood so I can only imagine myself in labor.I am surprised to know that so many people dont get them. I always assumed that 99.9% of people did.
