Re: CAC question

I don't know why anyone would go with ductless AC. Wouldn't that require a separate unit in each room?

Just do it the normal way and go with the ducts.

to go the normal way we will lose a portion of every closet and for the basement we would lose a foot of ceiling height

Re: CAC question

I think the ductless is what my grandma has- there is like a long rectangle shaped unit on the wall of each room that its in

If you want next time I go- I can take some pictures for you?

Re: CAC question

I work for a HVAC company, I think the only reason you would install ductless is if you didnt want all the ductwork and loosing the space it takes up.

If you have limited closet/storage space I would recommend ductless all the way.

Re: CAC question

We did regular CAC in the upstairs of my house and ductless in the downstairs. We did not want to give up closet space(I have no clue why you would have to give up a foot of ceiling height???) We are very happy! We have a raised ranch, so the cac is in all the bedrooms, the kit, the dining room, the livingroom and bathroom. the ductless is in our den and downstairs bathroom

we have a finished basement and want the ac down there also so to get the ducts around there you would lose the ceiling height

We looked into it also(we have a raised ranch, kinda like a high ranch) so finished downstairs. We would have to lose closet space but not ceiling heightChat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Maybe it is our layout or location of our closets and such. But the ductless is GREAT!
