Keurig coffeemaker
DH and i bought one last week. We have heard nothing but raves about it
However, we made our first cups and .....GROSS The coffee tasted SO weak and it tasted like plastic
Does it take some time to "break in"?
Help!! We really wanted this machine

Re: Keurig coffeemaker
Did you run it a few times?? You must do that. Sometimes adding vinegar through it helps too.

Re: Keurig coffeemaker
Hmmm... I love mine. Did you follow the instructions it came with in terms of "priming" it - or whatever they call it? I know we had to run water through it a few times to get it ready...maybe that washes out the plastic taste?

Re: Keurig coffeemaker
I had that the first few cups we made. It was kind of a waste of coffee but now it tastes great
I know that I pick the middle cup size when I brew the coffee....makes it not too strong and not too weak

Re: Keurig coffeemaker
Which coffee did you use? Also remember the Keurig don't have a filter. We fill it from the water cooler not the sink!!
So sorry you don't like it. We love ours!! The Kona and Green Mountain columbian are really good! Italian blend is another one of our choices!
I also drank the columbian decaf when I was preggo and that was pretty good too.

Re: Keurig coffeemaker
Make sure you prime it, also if it is still not right, call Keuring directly. There is something wrong.

The first few cups were horrible for me. Keep playing around with it. You'll grow to like it

Oh check the box...I think that one is a light coffee! That may be why it was weak! I remember not liking that one also!!
I had the Mt Green decaf hazelnut

Re: Keurig coffeemaker
We never had a problem with our Keurig. We did have to run it a few times and prime it like a PP said. It could also be the type of coffee you're buying too. I would try a couple different brands and see which you like. Personally, I didn't like any of the decaf hazelnut coffees. If I wanted a decaf hazelnut, I ended up brewing Timothy's decaf and sticking in a flavored creamer that had hazelnut. Maybe that could be it?

Re: Keurig coffeemaker
We find many of the coffees to be very weak for the mid-sized cup setting. Some were even weak on the small cup-especially some of the Green Mountain coffees.Try buying some dark roast or extra bold coffees, we've found them to be much more flavorful.

I'm not a big fan!
My parents have one so we were using that for 3 weeks while we were there... try the extra bold ones and make them on the smallest cup (just use 2) or the medium cup.
