I'm going to go even further and say this: when infrequent posters or total lurkers announce their pg's on TTC I've always been.
BFP announcements on the TTC board should really be for those who have contributed and supported the others. Lurkers and infrequent posters should just announce their BFPs on Pregnancy- it's just more appropriate.
*opinion alert**** "I" don't care how much help/info you've gotten from the board- if you are a lurker or infrequent poster on TTC, its hurtful to post about your good fortune to those who barely know you and have been struggling. You'll get plenty of happy vibes and lots more information (and you won't run the risk of hurting anyones feelings) if you straight to Pregnancy where everyone can share your happiness.
very well said!! and honestly most of us frequent posters feel this way.. if you never contribute to the board while trying...why post your BFP then? i know they might get excited and dont realize... so thats why i wrote this thread.. just to post it on the PG board so we dont have to see it.. its a touchy situation.
and i apologize for feeling this way.. or hurting anyone's feelings..
I son't see why you couldn't jsut be happy for another person who is gong thru somethign simalar just becasue you don't know every detail of their story.
I just don't get that, a new baby is good news not something to make someone else feel bad.

You don't have to apologize for having any feelings- just know that posts like this are what may make some people hesitant about posting anything.
I always feel like I'm going to say something wrong or unintentionally offend someone so I rarely post, but lately there are a few things on the boards that have made me go
It should never be "us against them" as in those who try for 16 months vs those who try for 2 months and get a BFP.
It's no one's fault that they either have an easier time or a harder time.
I guess I just get that vibe...
I understand where you are coming from now- thank you for clearing it up.
I'm also sorry for misinterpreting your post.

i never said i wasnt happy for girls that get their BFP... i am happy for them.. its a gift of life... i stated in my other posts that it simply hurts a little when they post it with no other contribution from the threads. thats all

i am still trying to clarify that it has nothing to do with getting pregnant on the 1st try OR anythign against girls that are having a tough time .or any kind of back stories.. we all have our own situation.... its simply.. lurkers who cant even post any of those... thats what i am basically trying to say... just so we know these lurkers exist.. and if lurkers still dont want to post anything.. i feel that their announcement should be posted on the PG board..
i hope this clears it up a little more..

No one said they are unhappy for that person- BUT that *unknown person's* good news makes others feel bad/sorry for THEMSELVES..... Perhaps if you'd struggled through a few months of being unable to get pg you'd understand it better.
ETA: And I don't see why lurkers/infrequent posters can't go right to the Pregnancy board. It's not like they've formed relationships here with people......

Re: do you get upset when.....
We've only been trying for a month but I know what you mean!
I feel that you get what you put into this board, if you come on and share somethings you're going through and read what other have to say you really are getting the full benefit from this board. If you just come on to post your BFP, you're really not getting the full benefit of being a member of the TTC board. I don't even have 100 posts and I've already gotten some really good advice from everyone here!

Re: do you get upset when.....
This board is called TTC- trying to conceive- if you have never asked any questions about TTC or given any input on it, why would you post your BFP here at that point you are pregnant not TTC. Just automaticcaly go to the pregnancy board. Unless you come on here to thank people for their support and tell them you were a lurker and give your experience of what helped you get a BFP. I totally understand what Deanna is saying.

ITA! I think its cruel if the only time you post on the TTC board, its to say you got a BFP. Go straight to the PG board.

Re: do you get upset when.....
I always feel guilty because I can't post as often as I'd like. I plan on posting if I can ever get a BFP. With working out of the office for the next couple of months and taking 6 classes right now, I don't come on as often as I'd like. I always feel like I belong yet I really shouldn't belong. It's weird.
5 posts is a little different though. Are they new people or just people that changed their names maybe?

Re: do you get upset when.....
I admit.. I'm a lurker. My DH and I have been trying for about 3 months now. I have never posted on here because I have never felt comfortable. ITA with DPerotti and Kahlua. I am not okay with posting "I'm out" each month, nor am I comfy enough with posting what my CM looks like and how I figured out that I'm Oing. Its just a persona preference, ya know?
More importantly, I have a blood disorder that causes clots and sporadic miscarriages- so for me, keeping my TTC struggles to myself is what I have chosen to do. I never thought that when I do finally post that I am pregnant (not just a 'bfp') it would be hurtful to others. From the other side, having people upset that I posted would hurt *me* as well. I guess it's just the nature of the beast. Please know that sometimes the reason for lurking is deeper than simply "not having anything to add"

i appreciate you coming out and telling us how you feel...
but you are a pefect example of what i am trying to get out there!! i completely understand 100% for girls that do not want to post anything personal or their own personal TTC issues.. DO NOT have to post this!! a simple intro that you are on the board and even posting hugs, babdust etc.. is good enough!! so we know you are here supporting us and in this journey together!! then when you get your BFP we know who you are!!
i wish you luck with your journey!

Re: do you get upset when.....
Maybe they were TTC all along but did not post for many reasons.
They were new and shy
They had issues TTC and did not feel like posting
Then they post when they are successful.
I don't think anyone would come on this board and intentionally imply I am PG and you are not.

Re: do you get upset when.....
I don't know, I'm mixed.
I'm happy for anyone that gets a BFP BUT if you don't post to share/contribute to the board it does seem a little odd to me that people chose to post about the BFP on TTC. By contribute, I do not mean posting BFN and all the gory details-even a little baby dust or encouragement to others.
Only posting a BFP-it seems more logical to post on the pregnancy board as you are introducing yourself to the board you will be on for 9 months.
It's not about being upset about a new poster receiving a BFP-I just don't feel connected to that person as I do to someone whom I've shared ups and downs with.
