To the BTDT moms who had a Scheduled C Section but went into labor

What happens? This is for a friend whose doctor told her he doesn't want her going into labor on her own or it will be an emergency c section. She a 1st time mom and her DC is breech. Thanks for any insight.

i just asked this question at my 34w appt. if i start having contractions or my water breaks, call the emergency line and go right to the hospital. csection will happen that day. (unless they had to stall labor for any reason)

Well, I'm not sure if her only reason for the c-section is that her baby is breech, but, for me, when I had my almost 39 week appt, they realized DS was breech. I was supposed to come in 3 days later and they'd try to turn him and then induce me. If it didn't work they would do a CS. My water broke around 3 AM that night so I called and had a CS the next morning at 8:00.

I'm not sure that it was technically an emergency - there was no threat to the baby so they basically just told me to come in and then got me ready. I ended up having to be knocked out - but that was for another medical condition I have and the anestesiologist would not do a spinal block. But, if that weren't the case, I think it would have been pretty routine.

I had a scheduled c -section for 39 weeks.

At 37 weeks, I went into labor in the middle of the night and my water broke.

I was directed to head right to the hospital, and the on-call doctor (luckily my own OB happened to be the one on call that night) performed the c-section once he got to the hospital. It wasn't considered emergency, it was pretty uneventful and the recovery was fine. All told, I was in labor for about 4.5 hours before the surgery, between getting to the hospital, waiting for the doctor, etc.

My second baby happened to be breech, but was going to be a c-section anyway since my first delivery was- and I had no desire to attempt a VBAC.

I was scheduled but for no medical reason, but because I didnt want to VBAC.

I went into labor on my own and I had a nice and easy C section an hour after arriving at the hospital. We had to wait for my DH to get there to start! I was in a gown within 5 minutes of arriving.

My water broke about 6 hrs before I was due in the hospital for my C section. I went right to the hospital and they just performed my C section a few hours earlier than originally planned.

Not me, but this happened to my sister. She went into labor 4 weeks before her c-section date. They just went to the hospital right away and did the c-section. She had no problems.

With my second, I had a scheduled section for Sept 7th but went into.full blown labor July 24th. In my case, we called emergency line & then headed to hospital. Since I was 8 weeks early, they tried to.stop my contractions which happened until my water broke. At that point, I was wheeled into the OR for my section but it was done as any other section, I just got first priority over anyone else that was already scheduled that day.

My friend went into labor before her scheduled c section. She just went to the hospital right away and had her c section a week earlier.

I was scheduled for a c-section and at my 37 weeks appointment found out I was in labor...didn't even know. I was 4 cms dilated and contractions every 2 minutes. Was sent to the hospital and had my c-section later that night when the doctor got there...13.5 hours after my appointment.

I had a schedule c section and my water broke and i went into labor 2 days prior to my scheduled day. Dr told me to go to L&D and met me there and did c section
