BTDT moms who had a scheduled C-Section
My doc has decided to perform a section this time around due to DD's shoulder dystocia. I will be getting my date on Thursday, but it could be as early as next week, so I want to start getting my bag together.
What do I need to pack? Aside from pads and huge undies...
I don't remember what I had packed from DD, I just remember I didn't use most of it.
Also- did you have to go for pre-surgical testing?

Re: BTDT moms who had a scheduled C-Section
Sched c-section was a breeze for me. My first was a nightmare and had a crash. DS2 was scheduled and so easy
I brought light drawstring pants that were loose tanktops nursing tops if you're nursing boppy (forgot mine and would've made feeding sooo much easier) slipper socks with nonslip bottoms toiletry stuff... small shampoo/conditioner, brush, hair ties, some makeup, toothbrush bras (nursing or sports bra) camera, batteries, video, phone, charger, etc all insurance stuff if you're doing the cord blood then you need the kit snacks for you and DH (mainly DH ) DH should bring some stuff too. especially if he's sleeping over or just staying all day
had to get pre-op bloodwork the day b4. it was nothing. they'll tell you to come 2 hours b4 and the 2 hours fly. my nurses were amazing use the anesthesiologist!! he/she's there to make you feel the best. tell them when you feel ill and they'll give you something asap the first 20 -30 mins seem to take forever and then when the baby is out you forget they're even doing anything and you're concentrating on the baby good luck!!

Re: BTDT moms who had a scheduled C-Section
basically everything the PP posted, one thing is to have underwear that come up above the incision, I made the mistake of packing my maternity bikini ones and I needed my mother to bring me the "granny type" because they were rubbing against my incision.
also, I found the recovery and the CSection itself wasn't that bad at all, just be sure to stay on top of your pain meds and when they want you to get up and move, definitely do it, I think it helped a lot

All I brought was comfy pants, tanks and hoodie (hospital was sooooo hot) granny panties and pads (but used ones provided mostly)
Other than that all the stuff I packed I didn't need.
