Do you give tylenol/advil for teething?
If so how often? For the past week DD has been a miserable mess at night. Literally waking every other hour some nights. SHe is getting 3 eye teeth at once. I gave her meds 2 nights and she slept the rest of the night without issue. Would you continue to give it to her or not? How much is too much?
ETA the teething tablets do nothing for her

Yes... Tylenol when he was under 6 months and Motrin after. I only gave it at night and the pedi said it was fine to give it as long as he needed it. It was only one or two doses a day so it was fine to give it for a longer period... No sense in them suffering..

Yes, motrin works best for teething because it reduces swelling. The eye teeth were by far the worst for my DD. They seemed to take forever to come in. Motrin was the only thing that helped.

Yes, sometimes both, big fan of pain meds..no need for my LO to suffer... I follow the recommended dosing/frequency on the box.

i only do when she is showing symptoms of teething or discomfort. some of her teeth came in with no issues, others have been wayyy more difficult (esp these 1 year molars - shes been on tylenol for a few days already )

I do. I try not to give during the day, unless she's a complete mess then I give for nap then bedtime.
I give it every night until I know she's better.

If DS is miserable, I will try it and if it helps then I will continue to give it.
eta - I would usually only give it at night until he is feeling better. But I wouldn't hesitate to give it during the day if he was in pain. Its just usually more painful at night when they are laying down.

Re: Do you give tylenol/advil for teething?
Thanks everyone. I should clarify, I meant how many nights in a row is ok. Usually one dose at bedtime does the trick. Luckily she hasn't had any issues during the day really. ((knock on wood))!

I usually would give until I saw the tooth break through, then try a night without it. If it was a bad night, I would do a few more with the meds. It was kind of trial and error. But I would always give when in doubt at night because I didn't want him to suffer.

Do you give tylenol/advil for teething?
Yes. If I was in pain I'd take it. I wouldn't let DS suffer if he didn't have to

As many days as she's in pain, I think our record was 9 nights for the one year molars.. they were awful

Yes if it wakes them up in the middle of the night. My kids are great sleepers so if they wake up there is a reason.
