Did you give your DC orajel/tylenol for teething?
DS has been grumpy for the past few days. He has FOUR top teeth coming in at once. I'm pretty certain that this is bothering him. He doesn't cry in pain but just seems uncomfortable. He doesn't have a fever.
Would you give him tylenol?
Our pediatrician told us not to use orajel.
Did you give your DC tylenol and/or orajel for teething pain?

I never used Orajel or anything like it. We did give DS Tylenol when he seemed to be in a lot of pain. We also used Hyland's Teething Tablets, which really seemed to help him.

Only Tylenol if they seemed really irritable and unconsolable (even without fever). I never used anything else.

I have given them Tyenol if they seemed to be in pain and nothing helped soothe. I havent used orajel the Ped told me not to use it.

Never gave DD anything, not even those tablets. She doesn't seem to be in any discomfort and was never a chewer, so maybe that is why.

I gave DD orajel until I tried it myself for a cheek bite--never again!! It's awful! I just gave her the teething tablets after that.

DS was a mess when his 2 bottom teeth came in...grumpy, not sleeping, and a fever...we gave him Tylenol until it passed and it helped a lot.

Motrin works best for teething because of it's anti-inflammatory properties. I used it with Alex on the really bad nights.
NEVER used orajel - it's a choking hazard because it can numb their throat.

When it was really bad during the day, I gave tylenol. At night, I used motrin. I used the humprey's tablets for a while but then forgot about them.

Motrin works best for us,it's an anti-inflamatory so it helps with the gum swelling. Orajel isn't recommended anymore, it can cause them to choke.

Never used orajel or Hyland's Tablets. Our ped advised us not to.
But I would give Tylenol (only before bed to help him sleep).

i heard the exact same thing...
the one time i used orajel ds gagged instantly...
we use teething tabs first, if there is no relief then motrin... but i try and limit the drugs until bed time

I used Tylenol- only at night though. During the day, just tried to get him to gnaw on things and distract him
The Tylenol worked well because he never woke up at night from teething- even when his molars came in.

I use Tylenol at night and she "eats" everything during the day!.
I have hylands gel that I use if shes in extreme pain.

I've never used orajel. I'll use Hyland's Teething Tablets if he seems uncomfortable. If he also has a low grade fever, I'll use Motrin.

ABSOLUTELY NO ORAGEL!!!
oragel can be very dangerous, it can numb the back of their throats and cause them to choke on their own saliva.
We usually use hylands teething tablets for teething pain. She has gotten motrin 2X for really bad teething pain but the hylands usually takes care of it
