...spotting and mild cramping UPDATE

Update...it's over. This is the worst feeling in the world.

__________________

I will be 8 weeks tomorrow. Starting spotting (brown, not red) this morning plus I have mild cramping. The cramping may just be a stomachache...im not sure. DH and i bd'd this weekend (which will not happen again for the rest of the pregnancy as long as everything is ok). I left a message for my dr. I left work and am on the train heading home. I'm freaking out. Has this happened 2 anyone else? I am terrified.

Re: freaking out...spotting and mild cramping

They say brown is usually just old blood. Just stay calm though..I know easier said than done but that will help more than anything right now. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I'm hoping and praying all is OK...in the meantime just take deep breaths that's the best thing for your LO.Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Try to relax and wait for your OB to call you back. Easier said then done ( I know as I have been where you are). Brown blood is old blood so you should be ok.

If your OB doesn't get back to you go to the ER. They can do a sono and bloodwork. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: freaking out...spotting and mild cramping

I had cramping off and on up to 8 weeks.

I had a lot bright red blood around 14w and they said it was because my placenta was in the wrong spot (Sorry forgot the term). DH & I had dtd a few days before. It hurt like cramps really bad. I was so nervous.

I hope it all ends up ok for you too!

I had brown spotting during the first and second trimesters when I was pregnant with DS. I had mild cramping on and off as well.

Chat Icon for you! A lot of the girls had similar experiences and it was old blood. Hopefully the Dr calls you back soon. Chat Icon Chat Icon

Chat Icon to you. I hope the dr calls back quickl, both of those are really frightening when they happen, but can also be completely normal. BD'ing can def cause spotting because of the position of the cervix (I believe was the reason I was always given). While I was pregnant with both of my sons, I had AF-like cramps the entire time. Always always best to check though!

I have had cramping at all different times so hopefully the two are unrelated. I'm thinking of you and hope you update with good news. Chat Icon

Re: freaking out...spotting and mild cramping

Spotting can be normal (esp. because it's brown and not red), and since you BDed that might be it. Brown is usually just old blood. Definitely talk to your dr and try to get him to let you come in for an u/s. This will ease your fears, and you'll be able to see your LO's heartbeat!
