freaking out here - spotting - UPDATE
I jsut went to the bathroom, and tmi, saw some brown spots on underwear, brown muscousy discharge on tp when i wiped. no cramping. had a nuchal last week, everything looked great. should i call OB? or wat till morning? DH on call tonight, i'm home alone wiht my 1 year old and so worried.
UPDATE- went to OB today, baby looks great, moving all over . cervix nice and long. so baiscally, unexplained bleeding. only thing, OB said placenta is low, but he thinks it will probably move as baby gets bigger, and that MAY be a cause for the bleeding. but peanut is FINE

Re: freaking out here - spotting
I think you're fine as long as your not cramping and the spotting is brown and not pink/red.

Re: freaking out here - spotting
I responded on parenting, but I also wanted to say it could be from a little yeast infection. I had that happen at 23 weeks

Re: freaking out here - spotting
unfortunately, spotting is common in the first trimester. I had 3 occurrences of spotting and am totally fine!!!
as long as you don't have cramps associated with the spotting - you SHOULD be okay. I would still call the on call doc and let them know (call your office, leave a message with the answering service, asking for a call back). Call your doc and then worry about tracking down DH.....
Best of luck!

Re: freaking out here - spotting
I had this with my first pregnancy. I freaked, called the OB and he had me go to the ER to get checked. Turned out everything was fine, it was just a little spotting, which they said in the first trimester is completely normal, as long as there is no cramping as well. Good luck & keep us posted.

Re: freaking out here - spotting
I would try to relax and call your doc in the morning. Monitor it to make sure it doesn't persist, but as others have said-- as long as it is not accompanied by cramping, you are probably ok.

Did you and DH have $ex recently? If so you could have irriatated your cervix. You may be dehydrated as well, drink as much water as you can and put your feet up.

Re: freaking out here - spotting - UPDATE
I had a low placenta also. I never had spotting but I heard that is a common thing to happen when it is low.
I had a sono at 28 weeks and my placenta moved up.
