Prayers Prayer Prayers and more prayers for the people of Japan.
this is just so devastating. to such a beautiful country and people. I spent 3 weeks in Japan in 2002 when they hosted the World Cup. and what a host country they were.
beautiful, clean. people shy and reserved but always willing to help. even go out of their way, without knowing the language..to communicate a way to help.
they have such a love and pride for their country. and it has been torn apart.
and the idea that radiation is leaking there just kills me. I remember going to Hiroshima and seeing the chronicles of the devastating effects the radition exposure had on the southern part of the country after the bomb. and now, the northern area is experiencing something similar. 
I am just praying for them so hard. and so sad that this has happened. in the Golden Palace in Kyoto an old may stopped me and in very broken english asked me where i was from. when I said new york city, he expressed his sympathies for what happened to us on 9-11 and said Japan was with us. NYC is the sister city for Tokyo. as they all prayed for us then, we can pray for them now.

Everyday I turn on CNN and can't believe that they have 'new' bad news. I feel so bad for everyone there, and people outside of Japan who are still trying to hear from loved ones.

There was another aftershock this morning, a pretty strong one at 6.0.
Thankfully all of my colleagues and their families are safe and accounted for.
It's just heartbreaking to see the devastation, not so much what the earthquake caused, but what the tsunami did afterwards.

I cant even wrap my brain around the amount of devastation. I thought Katrina was bad, holy jesus..this is a million times worse.
I pray for all those babies & children who may be separated from their moms/dads..thats really what hurts the most.

My heart bleeds for all of them right now. It makes me sad to think of those people who are missing or families who are seperated. I also cry thinking about the animals that are injured or seperated from their owners as well.
So many prayers for this country right now

I have been thinking and praying about Japan nonstop since Saturday. A very close family friend and his Japanese wife live in Tokyo. Her family lives in the area where the tsunami hit and they were unable to find out any info about her parents until last night when they were thankfully spotted at a shelter. Our friend says that the aftershocks are continuing to be felt in Tokyo constantly and that the food situation is getting bad. Supermarket shelves are basically bare even in Tokyo.
