Re: The Great Footie Pajama Debate
DS is 11 months old and he wears them out all the time. He won't keep socks or shoes on so it is the only way I can keep his feet covered. If we are going to a party or something else, then he wears regular clothes..

Re: The Great Footie Pajama Debate
Right now DS is 2 weeks old and the amount of times we change him a day, footie PJ's it is!!
We made the mistake the first doctor's appt and put him in a really cute outfit and he peed in it - LOL. Next time we went, it was footie PJ's.
Once we can take him in public places for long periods of time, I am going to dress him in the 9000 outfits waiting for him, hopefully he wont grow out of it by then.

They are called Sleep And Plays not PJs so I didn't have any issues of having them in those for errands and around the house, especially in the cooler weather.
Same!

Depends on my mood, but sometimes she will go to daycare in them.
I do try to get fancier ones if she is going to wear them out and keep the plain ones for sleeping and hanging out at home.
Same here too.
And if she is wearing one of these outfits during the day, she definitely gets a new pair for sleeping.

She usually wears the "fancy" ones out. And I have gender neutral ones from my shower, those are the ones she wears to bed LOL
If we are going somewhere special, she will were one of her eleventy billion outfits!

Re: The Great Footie Pajama Debate
I only put him in them to sleep - and then I'll dress him in his regular clothes at like 11am-ish.
It just makes me feel more productive if he looks dressed! lol

They are for sleep only. I know it doesn't make a difference now (and who knows if it will in a few months), but I want DS to know the difference between day clothes and night clothes, that way, in a few months, he will know that when the feety pajamas come out it's almost bed time. very true! ita!

Re: The Great Footie Pajama Debate
I used them for sleep only and put her in outfits for the day.
I found them a PITA all the buttons when changing diapers and I liked putting her in outfits everyday.
But that was just my thing. I dont think twice when I see an infant wearing anything. Footies, no socks, no shoes, it's all ok in my book.

Re: The Great Footie Pajama Debate
that's all my son wore until about 3 months old . They don't "know" what clothes they are in. They have ones that are "sleep N Play" ones too.

I agree- I only use them for sleep. As soon as the overnight diaper gets changed so do his clothes. If we're just hanging around the house I have comfy sweats to put him in.

Re: The Great Footie Pajama Debate
i think the once peice outfits are acceptable for the first few months, when they are in the infant stages. they are so easy. once the babies reach about 6-9 months, seperates are fun

Re: The Great Footie Pajama Debate
Up until my kids were about 3-4 months old they were around the clock ware. I would put a new one on them in the morning so they understood from the get go you change your clothing every day. When they are super little those sleep and play outfits are the best. They keep them warm.

Same here! New one every morning (and sometimes during the day if he spit up or something).

Re: The Great Footie Pajama Debate
I liked to get DD dressed in the morning when she was an infant so I only used the pjs for nighttime. But I dont think anything of it when I see other infants out and about in them. DD had so many outfits and I really wanted her to wear all of them!

Re: The Great Footie Pajama Debate
For DD esp., I got her dressed. She had so many adorable outfits, I didn't want to waste them.
The only time she was in PJs all day was for a snow day when none of us left the house.

I will be putting her in them for everything! She's a baby- she doesn't need to be dressed to the nines! When it comes to babies- IMO- comfort and convienience are first and foremost! After all, she can be in an expensive designer outfit and she's just going to spit up all over it anyway!!!
ITA!! My babies wear footie pajamas every day. Once they are 4-5 months I will start dressing them in more fashionable clothes.

DS was born in January and wore them all the time for hte first few months. Occasionally I dressed him in an "outfit" when we visited family/friends.
