The Great Name Debate - with poll!
We're having trouble settling on a name. We want to name after one or both of our grandmothers. But how do we decide who gets a namesake and who has to wait for round two?
Option 1: DH's favorite girl's name and Hope as a middle name to honor my grandmother. I love what Abigail means (A father's joy).
Option 2: My favorite girl's name and Brooke as a middle name to honor DH's grandmother. He loves what Lila means (Dark-haired beauty) since we're both brunettes lol.
Option 3: First name to honor my grandma, middle name for his. I like it a lot and think it's pretty. But we're not "in love" with the name.
HELP!

This is a tough one. The only name I am not crazy about out of all of them is Haley. I love the name Brooke so much. Abigail is beautiful but becoming very popular. I like Lila, but I feel like people could end up saying it incorrectly. So after all that I think I might choose Lila Brooke

I'm with you on this!
I love Abigail and Madison for girls. Apparently, so does every other mother right around now lol. I love kinda old-fashioned, historical names.
We're going with an Irish name, though.
I think it's sweet that you love what Abigail means and your DH loves the name. That's a great compromise.
Oh, and don't forget to look at initials. I don't THINK "A BM" would be all that bad, but it's worth a thought just so you're not surprised if someone makes fun of it.

I like Abigail a lot but keep in mind some people may give her the nick name of Abby. Are you ok with that? I know that's one thing my DH and I are very aware of in picking a name. They are all really great choices though.
