Lets talk stretch marks

I'm 22 weeks and wondering if and when I'll get them. My mom never got them so I'm praying that I won't! I'm trying to gain weight slowly, but not sure if that will really help.

If you did get them with this pregnancy or a previous one, could you tell me what week they showed up? Did your mom get them too? Thanks!!!

I got them almost right away with DS, and they did fade to white after giving birth.

With this DC, the stretch marks are still there, but white, not red like with DS. Probably bc my stomach was so stretched out already.

My mom did not have them, nor did anyone on my mom's side. I must get them from my dad's side of the family.

I think they came out at 29 weeks. My mom didn't have them either.

I only got them on my hips... and they showed up around 33-34 weeks. I'm 40+wks right now and there is anything else going on in that area... my mom only got them on her hips as well.

I haven't gotten any yet and am 31 weeks. that they don't appear!!!

I got them around week 27...I hate them!! I have them on my inner and outer thighs, calfs, butt, and tummy!! I have been cursed!!!Thankfully my boobs are ok still, but ya never know after the milk comes in! I had older ones from when I was younger but the news ones are much more noticeable...

mine came after was born, my mom got them too. they are only on my hips

I am 19 weeks & have noticed some on my hips The are very light but make me sad. Lol. My mom had them bad. All over her stomach though. I am hoping mine don't get as bad.

didnt get any with my DS except for a few on the top on tush this time I havent had any either until like 1-2 weeks ago when some started showing up on my hips (I am 35 weeks). I am they dont show up on my stomach

Ladies stretch marks are like a badge of honor in my book. Growing a baby isn't easy!! Plus they are strictly hereditary. Weather your mother had them or not you fathers mother could've had them. The whole gaining weight slowly doesn't work! with my DS I only gained 10 pounds the whole pregnancy and it came slowly I didn't get the stretch marks until close to week 37. Just part of motherhood for some of us.

i have only gained 6 lbs at 25 weeks, my mom and sister (identical twin sister) didnt get them BUT mine started to show up on my lower belly around 17 weeks I dont believe the cream/lotion or genetics BS.. if you are meant to get them, you will regardless of the above mentioned

My mom has them and both of my sisters who have kids have them, but I didn't get them. I drank a gallon of water a day and used Mother's Special Blend Oil every day. I read that the only way to lesson stretch marks is to keep the cells hydrated. My doctor had already told me to drink a gallon of water and I attribute the fact that I didn't get them to my water intake.

FYI I gained 26 pounds during my pregnancy and by the end of the second week post partum I was back into my prepregnancy clothing. I'm still drinking a gallon of water a day!

i got 2 purple dots on my lower belly week 31, which got a bit longer week 32, now at week 36+ another one appeared next to one on one side, this one is longer, maybe 1/2 an inch. my mom had them, so i expect more. still doesn't stop me from lubing my belly 3 times daily :)

My mother never got stretch marks, my twin sister got a couple, I didnt get any...but I had a c section so I have a scar anyway...dont let them get you down...as the pp said it is a badge of mother hood WEAR THEM PROUD

I am not 100% sure if my mom got them (I asked her but now I forget ) but the only ones I got were three small ones on each hip with DS, and they faded fast after I gave birth. I don't have any yet this time but I am expecting them to resurface.

at 28w...so far none yet. but only time will tell.

like pp said there isnt too much u can do...but u can try to lessen the appearance by keeping yourself/skin hydrated and using the lotions which may or may not work.

I started to get them around 25 weeks and then they spread like wild fire. It looked like my babies were trying to claw their way out of my belly. 12.5 months PP I can barely see them now.

I didnt get them for DD I am not sure how I will be with baby #2 but I plan on using the same thing I did and swear by PURE Vitamin E oil. Lather up ladies!! Esp after a shower!! Every day!!!! From the beginning!!

34 weeks and just started getting a little. I wonder if it will get much worse... They're pretty high up on me. Whatever- I was no swimsuit model in the first place, lol.

I got them at 36wks when I was pregnant.

didn't get them last time and so far so good this time. i also dont lotion like crazy or use any special belly creams. my doc said it was genetics
