what do you think of this patio set?

My husband and i desperately need a patio set. However i was planning on saving money this summer instead of spending it, so i really don't want to spend $1000+ on a set.

I really wanted a table big enough for 6 chairs, but according to a couple of reviews... you can fit 6 chairs at the table.

So what do you think? YAY or NAY? Chat Icon

the price is definitely cheap, which i like! Chat Icon

Re: what do you think of this patio set?

My in-laws bought a table similar to this a few years back and after having it for only a few months the glass broke and they were never able to replace it, therefore the table was useless.

Personally I am not a fan of the all glass tables b/c of the fear of breakage.

I've seen some nice tile ones with 8x10 tile inserts that seem fairly durable. Saw one at Target just recently...check that out...

I like the stylye but it looks like it would be really tight with 6 chairs.

Table looks a bit small and the glass might be an issue. I prefer tile or iron tables.

Re: what do you think of this patio set?

I would say def get a set that has 6 chairs. We had bought a set that only had 4 and took it home, it was so small. We returned it and got a set for 8 that is much more practical.

There are so many places you can get a larger set for cheap. (Sears, Lowes, etc).

Re: what do you think of this patio set?

if those are the chairs i think they are, my friends have them and don't like them. the seats and backs are very hard on theirs and they always complain that they are sore after sitting in them for a prolonged time.

but i do love the look of the set.

Re: what do you think of this patio set?

We also couldn't spend a lot on a patio set & the one we had was a hand me down...broken chairs, etc.

We went with this one from Walmart & are VERY happy. 6 chairs too. $286.
I wasn't excited about getting a glass top because of breakage, but like the smoke glass & clips to hold the glass in place.

The chairs have a weave back...sooo comfy! It comes in two large boxes & they pack it up good.

We also bought it at the store...shipping is insane!

For the money, I would go with the Walmart set Lori posted.
We bought our patio set at Walmart 4 years ago - glass top and have had no problems. Just make sure to take the umbrella out in really windy weather.

I was just looking at the reviews and one girl said it rusts easily. Is that the case? Or is your patio set underneath something?

We've had it a month so far & no rust. I keep it covered when not in use.

I like it. My sister has something very similar and she bought it like 4 years ago. It is still in really good shape and the chairs are very comfy! I say go for it.
