Barry to Elisabeth: Your "View" is Dangerous
TMZ has learned that legendary singer Barry Manilow has pulled out of his scheduled appearance on "The View" tomorrow -- because he strongly disagrees with host Elisabeth Hasselbeck's conservative view! Paging Rosie O'Donnell!
In an exclusive statement to TMZ, Barry says, "I strongly disagree with her views. I think she's dangerous and offensive. I will not be on the same stage as her." Barry, taking a stand!
Manilow is currently on a press tour promoting the release of his new album, "Greatest Songs of the Seventies."
A call to a rep for "The View" was not immediately returned.

He must not understand that the show is called The View and not Barry's View. At least he picks on someone his own size. Him refusing to be on any show does us all a favor.

hmm.. the point of the show is to encourage debate amongst people with differing points of "view"
guess barry didn't understand the whole purpose of the show and decided to lash out on elisabeth

I understand what you're saying, but I don't really see this as lashing out...unless this turns into a whole back and forth thing, but who really cares about Barry Manilow's opinion? I'm assuming that his own opinions are so strong and to the contrary that he wouldn't be able to compose himself around her. If that's the case, it's better for him to stay home.

I totally agree with him. If I was famous I wouldn't be caught dead on Fox for the same reasons. He's not saying she doesn't have the right to her opinion but appearing on the show might send the message that he co-signs with her.
