Also states like Florida aren’t missing as much school since they end early. If you think about it, students lost almost half a school year of learning. I’m sure Nj is next announce.

I am not surprised.
I would be surprised if NY opened schools this September. I am hoping for it. I am mentally preparing myself if they do not.
We were already looking at houses out of NY, but looking at how we'd sell here first? Fuggedaboutit

Exactly, and the number are always going to go up!! There’s no cure and there never will be. There is also no Vaccine and even if there was one, people are NOT going to rush to take it and it won’t be 100% effective.
Why do people keep acting surprise by #s going up? I really think people feel so smart by saying if we open up the numbers will go up. Like no sh!t Sherlock. This is going to happen regardless. There is no avoiding it.

If I have to hear Cuomo one more time say the numbers will go up if we aren't careful. He talks to all of us like we are a bunch of 3 year olds. He disgusts me. He basically says, on a daily basis, "you are being beaten by your spouse, unable to feed your children, unable to get a paycheck or unemployment, and your livelihood is crushed. But you didn't get the virus, so stop whining, because that is all that matters." If schools do not reopen in September, I expect riots. And I am not joking.

I think we are going to end up moving eventually.
I can't live out the rest of my days in a state like this.
For many reasons.
Problem with that is our home values will begin to plummet now. I’m sooooooooo pissed we didn’t sell last year !!! So pissed. We would have been able to buy something outright in the Carolinas with the profit we could have made. Now? Scummed
I know.
My only advantage is I have no mortgage on my house anymore.
I guess i could rent it out or something.
I wish we would have moved a while back.

Home values are plummeting everywhere. You’d sell low, buy low. Evens out in the end.

Plus even If i had to lose some money , being out of this state and away from that moron of a leader would be worth every penny.
I actually haven’t seen home prices plummeted in our area at all. The number of home sales are 20% down, but prices are still up there...

You take kids out of school the entire Summer, and once they start back, boom 2 weeks in and everyone has a cold. It's bound to happen. He has said all along this lockdown was to prevent the hospitals from being overwhelmed. Well, the boat went back to VA, no one in the Javits Center. So why are things slowly not opening now? Wait, now I know why. Because schools are closed, and no childcare. It's never ending. Yet, in CT they have many things starting to open. I'm over this all.

Yep- any virus or disease will plummet if you lock people up and shut everything down.
The common cold will be less prevalent if you do that.
Flu will be less prevalent.
Every communicable disease will.
It's not a long term solution though.
However, Cuomo seems to think it is.

Yep. In CT restaurants with outdoor seating, zoos, museums, nail & hair salons, and retail, will all reopen on May 20th with limited capacity. Downstate NY will still be held hostage long after the other 49 states have moved on.

We, we will definitely be hopping on the ferry and visiting the outdoor entertainment facilities such as the zoo if our stuff doesn't open up. I thought he was working in conjunction with surrounding states, but it doesn't sound that way at all now!

Because they realize that if they wait for us, they will never get anywhere. I definitely plan on taking my children to the Beardsley Zoo, Mystic, etc. this summer. Especially since there will most likely be no beaches or pools.

I literally spit out my coffee. 
But after the laughter, I cried. Because it is true, and it is so depressing. I am genuinely terrified for the future of this state. I told my DH to sign us up- as soon we his company can safely send him to Madrid or Milan for a year, we are going. I need a break from all of this ********.

Exactly, and of course the numbers will go up. Just like with any illness when people become social once again. You take kids out of school the entire Summer, and once they start back, boom 2 weeks in and everyone has a cold. It's bound to happen. He has said all along this lockdown was to prevent the hospitals from being overwhelmed. Well, the boat went back to VA, no one in the Javits Center. So why are things slowly not opening now? Wait, now I know why. Because schools are closed, and no childcare. It's never ending. Yet, in CT they have many things starting to open. I'm over this all.
Yep. In CT restaurants with outdoor seating, zoos, museums, nail & hair salons, and retail, will all reopen on May 20th with limited capacity. Downstate NY will still be held hostage long after the other 49 states have moved on.
We, we will definitely be hopping on the ferry and visiting the outdoor entertainment facilities such as the zoo if our stuff doesn't open up. I thought he was working in conjunction with surrounding states, but it doesn't sound that way at all now!
Because they realize that if they wait for us, they will never get anywhere. I definitely plan on taking my children to the Beardsley Zoo, Mystic, etc. this summer. Especially since there will most likely be no beaches or pools.
Yes! I need a list of these places that will be open so I can plan accordingly.
I'm not sitting in my house all summer.

I don’t know what you expected? I think New York is the 43rd state to announce this, so pretty much every other state is already doing exactly the same thing.
Yeah I knew this was coming of course.
But seeing it in black and white just really drove it home.
And led me to a full on ugly cry sob fest for 20 full minutes.
No I get being upset—one of my daughters is a complete mess. I just meant more of the I hate New York mentality over this closing because most other states are also already closed unless you’re in Nebraska.

I just saw Coco Key in FL is opening in a couple of weeks. With a whole list of safety measures of course. But, they are opening.

Real estate in this God forsaken area of the country are tied to the school districts. No schools, no demand for houses. Who's going to buy a house with a $10K or $15K or $25K tax price tag for a couple of worksheets and some youtube videos with broken links? We've ALWAYS been FUKED, now it's just without lube.
You're basically paying a school tuition for nobody to attend.

I’m done next Sunday. I’m going to visit my sister for Mother’s Day!! Idgaf who has a problem with it. She’s been crying since yesterday because she can’t spend my birthday with me. Her mental and emotional state is more important to me than anything.
Everyone else can go scratch.
