Preschool question - holidays
on Friday, Maddie came home with little Halloween goody bags from about half her classmates. I will admit that I never even thought to send something in like that.
On that note, if your child is in preschool / pre-K, what holidays do you send something in for classmates?

Re: Preschool question - holidays
Valentines day is the only thing I do and I only do cards, no candy or other stuff. I don't even send stuff on his birthday.

Re: Preschool question - holidays
I'm surprised kids gave out stuff for Halloween.
Nope, at DS's preschool: it's only valentines day.
Even so, I hate getting 20 something pieces of candy for a 4 year old!

Preschool question - holidays
Only when the school organizes it for the kids and tells us to bring something- that's usually Valentine's Day and Christmas time (grab bag).

Re: Preschool question - holidays
Yeah, I was thinking just V-day, so I was totally surprised to see these little gift bags (on a side note, the parents went all out. Included crayon packs, playdoh, coloring books, Halloween cups, so I was like "WAHHH???"). DD's birthday is in August so I don't need to worry about that!

Re: Preschool question - holidays
DD has a very small class and came home with a couple goody bags. I sent in some as well. I will also do it for Valentines day, a cute little Valentine for the kids.

I purposely take off on her bday so she can stay home and I won't have to be bothered.

Re: Preschool question - holidays
My DS's school does Halloween and Valentine's treat bags, he has also gotten little treats from 1 or 2 for other holidays like St. Pat's and Easter. We started in January last year, so not sure if anything happens at Thanksgiving or Christmas.

We were told that in my boys nursery the summer birthdays celebrate in June- end of year & can bring in cupcakes or whatever at that time

I sent something in..a little bag with a halloween straw, playdough and a pencil
MY twins got 2 other little bags (there are 20 kids in the class) with candy.
My DS (2 year old) got nothing
I will probably skip next year.
Valentines day I may do the melted crayon mold in a heart shape if I have time.

For my son's birthday I went to dollar tree and got them each a coloring book and a character cup (princesses, ninja turtle, doc)
For the holidays I bought them each a 48 piece puzzle (again, doc, care bears, avengers, tmnt)
Valentines day I will send in something small and in June I will do something small as well.
