Can I cancel my account under my name and start a new one under DHs name to get the triple play price they're offering now?

I don't think you can if you have the same last name.
Call them and they'll them the Verizon guy came and gave you this price and see if they will lover it. My friend pays $110 for everything and calls once a year to cancel it and they just give her the price she wants.

Yes you can. They will come and remove the boxes and give you new ones. Plus your telephone number will change. But you can do this every year back and forth.
I did this in our old house. I tried to do it here and when I called and explained why I was doing it, I was transferred to another department. I can't for the life of me remember what the dept was called but they will negotiate pricing with you. They were able to keep my triple play pricing without me having to cancel. Try that first.

Just call them up and tell them you want a discount or you will switch to FIOS (that's the best four letter F word when talking with them) ... we did that and they just gave us the discount.
Otherwise, as PP said, you'd have to cancel your current account and lose your phone number and all that
