Refusing bottle.. 3 week old only wants to BF

I read to wait until three weeks to introduce a bottle and we've had DH try twice and DS hhaaattess it. Tried two types of bottles so far (Dr. Browns and Tommee Tippee) and he wails and cries and is just NOT a fan. I need a break! I need to be able to have someone feed him a bottle on occasion. Anyone have any tips? Any particular types of bottles you've had luck with?

I would buy a few different types and leave the room or the house if necessary (but keep a phone handy). I would make sure the baby is actually hungry and try again. My son had this issue and eventually needed valved bottles from medella.

Totally normal! I went through them same thing with DD, although she was a bit older. I think you should just try and introduce the bottle often - once/twice a day. Eventually it will take.

Ds took a bottle initially but then at 6 weeks started refusing. I went to a level 2 nipple and it helped . Does your ds take a paci? If not maybe try introducing that as well. Good luck I know how hard it is feeling like you can't leave

You should leave the room when Dh tries to feed.
I went through 4 different bottle types until I found one dd likes....
She takes the playtex vent air and also the playtex nurser (prefers the vent air). I also gave her the madela bottles that come with my breast pump and she likes those. The dr browns, avent, born free and similac simply start were just not her thing

I went through this as well. My dd finally did well with Playtex Nursers. My peds recommended them as they best for transitioning. She HATED dr browns, she hated Medela. she LOVED this and took to them right away. It has a wider neck so its like a breast and it helped her reflux and gas cause you push the air out of the liners.
Shes still on them to now 11 months old =)

I had my DH feed her and my mother. I would leave the room completely and not even let my dd see me. She got it. Dont give up. Its a little frustrating at first. But just keep trying the only way they learn is by consistency.

I agree-leave the room when your H gives the bottle. I didn't give DS a bottle until he was 5 weeks; we started with Tomme Tippiee. He had horrible gas after that! We switched to Avent and never looked back. I always would leave the room and go pump when DH gave the bottle.

We were away this past weekend and I pumped a bottle for DH to feed; we were at dinner and I was sitting right next to them. And DS would NOT take the bottle but took the boob when I offered it! I don't know if he just preferred to nurse at that moment because I was sitting there or what. But Even at 5 months I notice a difference if I'm nearby he won't take the bottle! So def. leave the room and it will get easier!

You got some great advice. I'd leave the room or even the house but don't go far in case it doesn't work.

I'll add to try different temperatures for the milk. DD used to take bottles that were about room temperature. DS refuses to eat them unless they're a bit warmer, although definitely make sure it's not too hot. He will literally spit out the milk if it's not warm enough for him.
