Preschool 2 or 3 days a week?

I have a DS who is now 2years, 4 months old. I am also expecting a baby girl in July. DS is very active and is craving to socialize with other kids. I know putting him in pre school is good for him but 3 days a week (2.5 hours a day) would be $60.00 more a month. 2 days a week is also 2.5 hours a day but only $140.00 a month or $60.00 less than the cost of $200 for 3 days. He will be doing afternoons because I want to keep him with the Early intervention in the am at home. What are your thoughts?

2 days a week sound good! That is what my daughter started at that age when she turns 3 in June she will go 3 days a week part time

I would do 3 if you can afford it.

If he is craving more interaction (as was my DD), and you will have less time with a baby coming, I see no reason to only attend 2 days a week other than $$$.

My DD went from being home with me 24/7 since birth, right into preschool at age 3 (just under 3) for 12 hrs a week. She walked into the school and played from the day we went to tour the school. She never cried once. She loved her new independence and was craving interaction, to be around other kids and make friends even. It was the best decision I ever made to have her attend for 12 hrs a week vs just 6.

I honestly think at a certain age (around 3) they will greatly benefit from a group setting. Much more than still being home alone with a sibling or caregiver/parent, etc. A school can provide so much more than we can at our homes, in terms of structure in a classroom, independence, socialization, etc. JMO anyway. Only you can decide based on your DSs personality but if you can register for 3, do it, esp if you can change your mind when the time comes.

DS started last September when he was 2.9years doing 2 days per week for 3 hours. He (and I) love it so much that I'm increasing it to 3 days this September.

If you can afford the 3 days then go for it. I think your DS will love it and it's great seeing everything they are learning. They like seeing you proud of them.
