Pediatriac ENT Recs? (For tongue tie)
So my pediatrician said she doesn't believe in doing the snipping for the tongue tie, but I'd like to see a ENT specialist for an opinion while they're still young before it's too late to do it. Can I get some recommendations? I'm nervous enough if I do decide to do it, I want to make sure they're in good hands. Thanks!

Not sure where you are located. We went to Dr. Monte in Mt. Sinai. We pushed it a little because she wanted to wait, but she did it when we asked. It was pretty easy and went well!

We love Dr. Scioscia. He has offices in both Smithtown and Lake Success. He snipped DS's frenulum at 9 days. He's also my ENT.

I live in westchester but our doc sent us to Dr. Dahl (I think her name is Linda), in NYC. Our doc recommended her as the best in the area.

We used Dr. Goldstein in Garden City. We went when DS was 3 months and we were hesitant so he suggested we come back at 6 months and that is when we had it snipped. It is more painful for us as parents. GL!

DS has seen him, also. We love him! He checked out DS's tongue when he was three weeks old and then we went back to him for ear issues when DS was older. Highly recommend Dr. Littman. (but, I think he might spell it with one "t." I'm not sure)

It's too bad Port Jeff is so far from me. I live in Lindenhurst but I'm willing to drive a half hour to an hour away or so.

Re: Pediatriac ENT Recs? (For tongue tie)
Thank you for the recs. I'm nervous about thinking about having to do it because my ped said there are risks to snipping, so I feel bad for pushing to do it somewhere else but I figured getting an opinion couldn't hurt. I'd just like to hear what an ENT thinks about their tongue ties.
Does anyone know what is the latest you can do it where they are still young that anesthesia isn't needed?

they didn't use any anesthesia on my DS. he was two weeks old. My nephew had it done when he was six months old and they did use it. But that was 7 years ago.
it's pretty minor - much less painful for them then say a circumcision. My ped was old school too, but doing it really helped with my DS's latch and I probably would have given up BF-ing if we didn't. But he's 2 months and i EBF
if you want more info, feel free to FM me.
