Kind of spinoff to when did you announce: How did you announce on FB?

All my close friends and work colleagues now know that I am pregnant. I had a hard time even announcing at work because I felt odd just coming out with it. I have a lot of friends overseas on FB who I grew up with or went to college with and would like to announce it there but also feel strange and don't know how to come out.

I'm now over 16 weeks and wonder if I should just wait till we find out the sex (in 3 weeks) and then announce that we are having a boy or girl. So, how did you announce?

I like the idea of announcing the sex.

For us it was easy as we have a daughter already so we just said "Kiera is going to be a BIG SISTER"

i didn't make an announcement but when i told me family they could put it on fb....my sister made an official announcement and tagged me and DH in it so everyone got the message that way

I announced it on Easter. Me and DH dyed Easter eggs and wrote " We're having a Baby" on them and took a picture and posted it on FB. We already knew the sexes when we annouced it, but even if we didn't I couldn't hold it in anymore.

i waited till the day of our level 2 and then i posted it on fb that night that we're having a girl. most people had already known we were pregnant but i asked them not to say anything on fb until i was ready.

I get a call from DH while he's on his way home from work one night...

"Don't be mad, but you need to go update your status on FB ASAP." (something to reflect his)
He wrote: Hurry up and get here already baby! I wanna watch cartoons with you!" and posted the picture.

I wanted to wait until I was 14 weeks, he posted just shy of 13.

DH and i both did something along the lines of

"we have some great news to share. The Larsen's are expecting a cub due June 30"

and i think we posted a sono pic

The day of our 13 week sono we felt safe enough to come out to everyone who hadn't heard already.

We made an announcement that said something along the lines of "We are proud to announce the future debut of Baby E, arriving around November 4".

Posted a pic of the 12w sono "Baby Ourlastname" .

When we found out the sex I said "Offically outnumbered.....IT'S A BOY!!!!!!"

I haven't. I don't really make any kind of annoucements on FB though-no status updates usually.

I said something like

John and I are pleased to announce we will be expanding our home by two feet this September"

I like the idea of announcing the gender. I didnt really announce on FB. I think around 25 weeks or so I wrote a status about my toddler being crazy and making her "pregnant mommy even more tired than usual!" I got a lot of congrats comments after that from people who didnt know beforehand.

These are all great ideas. I am pretty sure I will wait until our level II and can post the news of what we're having.

I just posted a picture that was pretty obvious so it was my unofficial announcement.

We are going to Mexico at the beg of June. I will be 16 wks then. Most people around us know and our immed co-workers know; it is the extended work people I am keepng it from. When we get back, I plan on making a post something along the lines of "Mini (last name) arriving in November"

I announced on Mother's Day, it kind of worked out perfectly. With DS#1, I posted his 12 week sonogram.

I actually deactivated my fb a couple weeks ago.. so I won't be posting on there.

It was a week or so before Christmas, so I posted that this was our last holiday as a couple because next year we would be a family of three!

I'm waiting for the anatomy scan to announce on FB, I'll be 22 weeks I think. I'm just going to say Baby Boy H (our last name) will make his debut in October! Other people have already congratulated me on FB though, so many people already know.

we announced on Christmas so I just put "this year we got the best gift that didn't even cost a thing.. we're expecting!"
