What did you buy DC for their first birthday?
DD will be 1 May 26th and looking for ideas of something from mommy and daddy!

i wanted to get the PBK anywhere chair. but i thought i was being thrifty (cheap) and got the walmart rocking chair for half price. horrible!! i wish i got the anywhere chair.
whatever you choose, i wouldn't recommend a rocking chair. DS realized it rocked and climbed on really quick backwards and fell forwards face first in the floor. he was fine, but that chair got put in a corner against a wall from now on

PB Anywhere chair
A few misc smaller toys (I got him some for his b-day and for Christmas but, ended up giving them all to him for his b-day).
ETA - He loves it - he sits in it often (he also climbs on it though).

We got him a sand/water table from us that he will be able to use this summer. We knew that people would buy a lot of 1 year old toys, so we tried to pick out something that he would be able to use later.

Same here. DD loved it. We're doing the same thing for DD#3's bday also.
are there different size chairs? Which size do you get? I've seen a small one and then a bigger one at some of my friends houses...is the big one too big for a 1 year old?

Same here! She had literally everything so we didnt bother with an expesive gift. Plus, her birthday is 3 weeks after Christmas!

I can't believe how many toys he has now - between Christmas and his birthday less than 3 months later, our small place is starting to look like a toy store 
We also gave him the PBK hippo critter chair and a 100 piece bucket of mega bloks that we had bought for Christmas but never gave to him bc he had so many other things. But we just gave that to him this week (2 weeks after his birthday). Worked out perfectly.

For DS' 1st we got him a Radio Flyer All-terrain wagon (daddy's pick) and I picked a rocking horse (it's actually on springs) that he could bounce on and makes sounds.
ETA: DS also had a large party and received lots of gifts but we still really ejoyed giving him the special gifts mommy and daddy picked for him. His party was the day before the actual bday so on his actual bday, we gave him our gifts. Image Attachment(s):
