SPIN OFF: to my bottle post.. did you replace with sippy of milk?

when you got them off bottles.. did you replace it with a sippy if milk or nothing at all?

for ex: do I give him cup of milk in the am...after nap and after dinner?
ETA: John drinks water out of the straw sippy with meals.

Yes instead of 3 bottles of formula, Travis gets 3 cups of milk. He also gets 2 cuppies of water too.

Yes. DS used to get 3 bottles of milk (formula still, actually) and now he gets 3 sippy cups of formula.

He has started taking his time drinking all of his milk, so I usually just leave the sippy wherever he is playing and he'll come back to it and take more drinks and finish most if not all of it that way.

Yes, up until age 2, Luca got 3 sippies of milk instead of bottles, plus extraif he wanted. Now he just gets milk in the morning and at night and when he asks, though he prefers his juice/water mix.

Yes, we try to give him 3 sippys a day. He usually drink the whole first two. The third one is iffy, but at that point he's already over the 16 ozs he needs. He tends to drink it earlier than he used to drink the bottle I noticed, he'll start yelling for it right around 7pm after dinner.

we only give the sippy with milk in the am and at night. during the day DD gets sippy's with water flavored with juice. DD also has a milk intolerance so more than 2 cups of milk a day is disastrious, so that's part of the reason why we only do it morning and night.

The day after his first birthday I took all bottles away. I replaced formula with milk with each meal, and water for the rest of his drinks. This kid knows how to drink tho lol

I cannot for the life of me get them to drink milk from a sippy. They get water during the day and with meals. I am still giving them a bottle of milk at night. Not sure what to do about this since that will mean no milk at all.

If John will take milk from a sippy, I'd offer it with meals.

Aaron did the same thing. He drank water with no problem out of the sippy. The minute he realized it was milk, he threw the cup at us. We just didn't give him an option. Milk only came in a sippy. I left it out and eventually he went over to it. The first few 2 or 3 days, he drank only the equivalent of one to one and a half bottles. Then he must have realized that the bottle wasn't coming back and he just gave in.

Have you tried all the tricks? Chocolate syrup, different kinds of sippies? Like mine only drink water from a straw sippy so I tried a spout sippy that's more like a bottle. Of course none of this worked but it might for you LOL.

i posted on your other thread about how I got rid of the am/afternoon bottles. I think I will just keep the nighttime one until 18 months?
