Changing sleep pattern at 17 months old?

Has anyone's DC done this?

For the past week, JJ has been going to bed at his normal time (7:30-8) but is waking anywhere from 5:30-6. He use to sleep until 7!!!! We can't figure it out bc before this transition, he was getting into a one nap pattern & now with the earlier wake time, there is NO WAY he can make it through the day on 1 nap.

Any suggestions?

DS did this too around that age. He still does it once in a while. He goes to sleep at 7PM and used to get up at 7AM. For a while he was getting up at 6AM.
There's no way to keep him up later. He needs his sleep. Even when I did wind up putting him in later he still got up early
It was a phase and now he's getting up at 6:30AM. Sometimes earlier and sometimes later.

Re: Changing sleep pattern at 17 months old?

DS is 16 months and until 3 weeks ago had been waking around 7:40ish sometimes as late as 8-8:15Chat Icon Then all of a sudden, he started waking closer to 6:30. No idea why. He does 1 nap too and so at times I had to delay the nap just so he wouldn't be overly tired at night. I was making his bedtime earlier vs later since he was tired earlier. These last 2 morning he's woken at 7:05. Hopefully this marks the end of the super early phase. I've found that DS goes through phases regarding his wake up time and I've never found something that explains it.
