Do you have names picked out in your head already and if so does your SO know about them and like them as well..
I loved one name for DD FOREVER and DH knew I loved it and hated it..we ended up having to name DD after grandparents so we didn't end up using the name., but if the next one is another girl you can be sure I'm using that name...

DH and I have talked about names and he is not crazy about the  name I will use but I want to name a boy for my step dad(he rasied me and has since passed away). As for a  we agree on a name and then the next time we talk about he changes his mind . If we have a she will be named for both of our grandmothers. so we will work this out.

The name question came up a few months before we officially started TTC and I picked a boy name I liked and DH picked a girl name he liked. It was never set in stone that these would be the names, but then DH bought me a locket and put the names in there and said that the locket is reserved for pictures of our future children.
Also during the TTC process he would talk to my belly and ask if there is a DD or DS (using the names we picked) so now they stuck and are a bit more official.

We talk about names all the time. We've basically agreed on the top 3 or 4 names for and the top 2 for . There are some names I LOVE, but he doesn't like them at all so they are a no-go. I do keep bringing them up in hopes that he'll change his mind though!

We have a definite name for a and some ideas for a but nothing for sure. My DH is Jewish and the tradition is to use the first initial of a relative who has passed away so we know we need to stick with names that start with a certain letter (if that makes sense!)

Oh yes, I love picking out names and my thought is they get your last name I should be able to pick out the first. For I have a few names that just fit in with my ethnic heritage. For I'd like to give him two names that he would go by the first initials- the first being my dad's name (and my grandfather's) and the second being dh's name (and his grandfather's.)

We have jokingly talked about names for years. We love a lot of names but are so much harder! However, I think we have come to some ideas...
Luke _____? Need a middle name. I have a Luke and Lucas in next year's class, lets hope they don't ruin the name for me!

Thats what we did..we're jewish and kept the hebrew names of the deceased the same, but for English we tried to get as close as possible with the first letter

We both agree on our names, but for a I love the name Noelle, but DH thinks that unless she were to be born around Christmas she can't be named that, meanwhile I tell him it would be in honor of my French Canadian heritage.

Yup and yup! Although lately my top girl names have been flipping back and forth. Right now #1 is Sophia and #2 is Gianna. For boys, #1 is Rocco and #2 is Gennaro.
