You reeeeeeeally earned your mommy medal today, sooo sorry about your car and all the other CRAP that went down. Don't set FOOT (or tooth  ) back in that office, find a new one ASAP.
I must admit once I read that they'll charge $550 for a missed appt. I would've been taking my gums and fillings somewhere else!!! That is the most insane thing I've ever heard and is NOT standard practice; who runs their operation, Tony Soprano  ???
Feel better, glad the hubs came around too!!!

Ok, about the $550, I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thinks that's insane. My husband, on the other hand, was like, well, that's the deal oh well! And if you're late, for every half hour you're late, they charge you $75. I mean, I get it that there are people out there that screw them over, but I freaking called and was EIGHT minutes late! EIGHT MINUTES!
Had I been the one to be with Ava for the first visit adn had I seen that policy, I would have walked out. No, instead it was my husband who was there and signed the paper and was FREAKING out on the side of the road today that we HAD to get there on time

Rachel, Think long term...If you continue with this office can you abide by these rules? I couldnt and I wouldnt want to be rushed into feeling like I MUST get there NOW!!!! I mean you are going to have 2 soon. Whats the chances that you may not be late again in the future for whatever reason. Those rules are terrible ...plain and simple. I would start looking elsewhere even if you do go back to finish this one time visit.

first of all, i hope you're ok!!
2nd, SHAME ON THEM for the way they treated you. 30 weeks pregnant is obviously pregnant. Thats terrible that you were treated that way.
and really, i feel bad your husband even suggested you apologize.
I would look into going to a new dentist because they seem awful to begin with.
(did you mean $50 for cancelling..not $550)

to the azzholes that treated you like that! I don't care who they think they are. $550 charge for a missed appointment? Hello-extortion!
I am so sorry you went thru all that. I hope you are physically feeling better soon. How awful to fall, on top of every other humilating treatment and not even have a compassionate helping hand. I would definately get another dentist. They are not god and could use a good lesson in customer service and manners!

As a fellow RDH her behavior was horrific!! I would switch offices..... and a $550 cancellation fee is insanity!!!! I have the name of a good pedo office in Commack if you are interested Sorry you and Ava had a bad experience

From start to finish, they sound like a bunch of asswipes I would leave the practice and write a nasty letter telling them exactly why!!!

That sounds like a horrific place starting with the $550 cancellation fee. Sh*t happens.... that's unbelievable!!!! And then the story gets worse and worse. I would find a new place, and let them know why!!!

Holy [email protected] should be kissing your *** making sure you're ok - not just because you injured yourself in their office but because you are pregnant.
What a bunch of azzholes. How does anyone NOT help a pregnant woman having a hard time is beyond me. To ask you to leave is way out of line. If anything, they should have offered you a quiet place to calm everyone down.
I'm glad DH was on board. Some people's first instinct is to apologize - even when the other people are wrong.
I'm glad you're ok. Take it easy today - and you should consider talking to your doctor if you're sore. There are things you can take while pregnant.

#1 You need tons of those.
#2. I would change dentists... NOW.
I would never EVER step foot back to that place. I'm so tired of these nasty receptionists in these doctors offices. WHO the hell do they think they are?
What bothers me is the fact that NO ONE offered to help you up after you fell. To me that is beyond inconsiderate.
Just wanted to add... I would have cancelled the second my car broke down. Let them bill you. I would have told them to scratch their *** if they think they were getting a dime from you.

I think I read that with my mouth open wide. I can't imagine a dentist or a hygienist EVER getting away with speaking to me that way. I would have let them have it.
