how long to wash hair?
If you have long hair (past shoulders) how long does it take to wash your hair? I feel like I'm in the shower at least 15 minutes.
I know this might be gross, but I feel like a large chunk of that time is pulling the loose hair off my hands/fingers b/c I try to put them on the wall (to throw away after the shower) so it doesn't all go down the drain. I usually brush my hair before getting into the shower but there are still a ton more that fall out while washing. I have really curly hair so I never brush it except right before washing and right after (I assume that's why more doesn't fall out during the day).
Good thing I don't have to wash it each day!

Re: how long to wash hair?
I have very long hair (too lazy to get a cut). I take about 10 min, 15 if I shave my legs. I do the same with hair on wall. I prob would shower faster but I end up in deep thought mid wash and snap out after a few minutes. It happens all the time haha

I have long hair also and I'd say I'm in and out of the shower in 10 min or under, including leg shaving.

Re: how long to wash hair?
Takes me at least 15 minutes to wash my hair, rinse, wash again, condition, shave legs, untangle hair and yeah, put the pulled out strands on the window sill so it doesn't all go down the drain. I daydream a lot in the shower too, the hot water running down my back is mesmerizing.

10-15 mins. I don't put the hair on the wall, I have a drain catch I clean out after I'm finished.

Re: how long to wash hair?
About 10 minutes total in the shower;
- wet hair - apply shampoo - clean body and face - rinse shampoo - apply conditioner on ends - shave - rinse conditioner - rinse whole head with cool water

I don't have long hair, but I have thick hair. 10 minutes when I shave my legs, less if i don't. I also don't pull hair out and stick it to the wall.

It takes so long - for me most of that is the amount of time it takes to rinse the conditioner out (I have to condition every time I wash). I'm in the shower about 20 minutes. As much as I try, I just can't get it down to less time. I hate it

Same for me. And I don't have long OR thick hair. But my hair is so fine and damaged that it gets super super knotty. Sometimes it takes forever and a whole bottle of conditioner to get it a comb through it.
I started to wise up now and I brush my hair before I go in the shower, while it's dry with a paddle brush. I get all the knots out that way- still takes forever- but at least once i get in the shower the majority are out.

Re: how long to wash hair?
My hair is past my shoulders and really thick, but it's straight. I brush it with my Tangle Teezer brush before I wash it - the bristles are short and really close together so they get out any knots AND collect a bunch of loose/falling hairs. Ever since I started using that brush a few months ago, I have significantly less strands falling out in the shower.
When I wash my hair - 10 minutes in the shower. I don't condition all the time...it makes my hair even heavier.
When I don't - 7-8 minites I guess? I can shower really quick sometimes, like under five minutes if I don't need to shave.

how long to wash hair?
My hair is down to my bra (midback). I'm in and out in under 10 minutes. I probably take around 10 minutes if I shave.

Re: how long to wash hair?
Not long for me either; 10 minutes. Mine goes to lower back. I actually use No More Tangles Sometimes if my hair is real knotty and it combs right out. I don't comb my hair in the shower.
I am constantly sticking hair to the wall also. And even doing that; my shower eventually gets a clog. I make DH pull the pound of hair out; I can't do it; it reminds me of the girls hair on The Ring........ Its so scary

I am reading these responses in shock! I am doing something terribly wrong. I take at least 20 minutes in the shower. 25 if I shave which is very often. I need to cut down on my getting ready time! I knew I was slow moving but less than 10 minutes? I applaud many of you. Lol, seriously impressed.

I'm glad that I'm not the only one who puts hair on the wall! If I didn't do that, the drain would clog even more often than it already does. But, to answer the question, I am out of the shower in about 10 minutes. But, I don't put conditioner in my hair -- just shampoo.

Re: how long to wash hair?
I would get drain screens for those of you that waste time sticking your hair on the wall in the shower. Holy cow what a waste of time!

Re: how long to wash hair?
At home about 10-15 minutes, when I stay in a hotel much longer ! The main perk of having an original bathroom from 1956 in my house is they didn't worry about saving water then and the shower heads let out a whole lot more water.

With really long hair it clogs partway through each shower if I just rely on the drain screen (I tried it a few years ago). It may take a lot of time our way, but it's easier than cleaning that screen multiple times each shower.

OMG this reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where they installed low flow shower heads in Jerry and Kramer's apartments and their hair was coming out awful so they were purchasing the old fashioned non water shaving shower heads out of the back of a truck from some shady characters like a drug deal. "Do you have the good stuff?" LMAO

I'm surprised too. I don't take forever, but more like 15-20 minutes I would say, definitely not 10 or under!
Sending a big thank you on behalf on the environment to the short shower takers!

Shaving my legs alone takes 15 minutes. I'm very hairy and have very long legs!
That is why I love winter where I can get away with not shaving daily. Cuts down so much on my getting ready time!
