Protesters
Women (and men) in the US and around the world are coming together to protest for women's rights. Why does this bother Trump supporters? Is it synonymous that if you support Trump you are also against women's rights? I don't understand why someone can't be both? Many Trump supporters seem to be bothered by this group of people who believe in women's rights and it's only enforcing the belief that the current political climate is against women's rights.
I'm particularly referring to some of the disgusting and vile comments being made by Trump supporters.

I'm trying to understand why it bothers them so much. Maybe someone that is a Trump supporter can chime in?

It doesn't bother me at all. It is their right to protest and I'm glad it was a good turn out and is peaceful.
As far as the comments, people are nasty on both sides. Republicans make nasty comments and Democrats make nasty comments. It is not one sided but all should be ashamed of themselves.

I have no issue with any peaceful protest, but a few isolated things really ruin it for me (e.g. Ashley Judd's super classy and constructive comments regarding Cheetos and Trump having wet dreams about his daughter). Disgusting, pointless, and totally undermines the actual message, IMO.

My SIL is a Trump supporter and views this largely as a "pro-abortion" march. I tried to explain how women's rights include much more than the right to choose, but it seems to have fallen on deaf ears. She also thinks things like wage disparities are lies perpetuated by liberal groups and the media.
I think peaceful marching is good and empowering.

There are actually pro-life groups marching also. Women's rights aren't limited to that one issue. I hope that's not what everyone is getting out of this. If it is, I'm even more sad than I already was.

This.
I would agree that These were marches. Because how do you protest something that hasn't occurred yet?
Peaceful marches = positiveity.
People being obnoxious: madonna = ridiculous.

Re: Protesters
Extremely religious people will forever be pro life. That's all they know and that's fine by be. They don't have to have an abortion if they don't want to.
If/when the day comes that this administration or the next one actually starts the process to OT RvW, I will be out there. Until then, I'll watch, listen & give the POTUS and his admin a chance. And keep my hope positive.
ETA: I would hope most people understand it's not just about abortion - but most people only pick what's most important to them and go with it

Ashley Judd was reciting a poem written by a woman in TN. It was art, not Ashley's direct words. I actually appreciated it.

I know that there is a lot more to women's rights, but she mentioned it on FB. I think many others against the march might think like she does.

Re: Protesters
It's both a march and a peaceful protest of all that's been said and that has occured. And a lot of people seem to be bothered by it.

My problem with it is that it's not a march for women's rights but rather a protest against the president. If they would be inclusive of everyone and call it what it is then it wouldn't bother me at all.

Since I actually participated in an event today I can say your statement is wrong. There were many, many issues being raised and represented. A lot of women's rights, LGBT rights, racial minority rights, children and education concerns and also some anti-Trump. But the majority was about rights, telling elected officials people are watching and it was attended by women and men of all ages and kids, too. It was a great experience!

I'm confused by this. You would prefer it only be about one issue but also include everyone? Just trying to understand better.
