Sharing a bedroom?
I'm currently pregnant, but my toddler (2.5) will most likely be sharing his room with the new baby. We will probably move the new baby in there around 6 months old, or whenever we feel like he/she sleeps well through the night. Does anyone currently have a toddler/infant bedroom combo, or have any advice? I'm nervous the middle of the night wakeup situation is going to be a disaster. We only have 2 bedrooms upstairs (the master and nursery), and I'm not ready to move my toddler to the main floor bedroom.

Sharing a bedroom?
My oldest was 2.5 when the baby was born. I kept the baby in my room at night until 6 months at least and I do kind of wish I'd tried to move her sooner bc the transition to the crib was really tough.
It took a lot of trial and error to figure out bedtime. We'd get the baby down and then have the older one sneak in or vice versa. Eventually when the baby got better at going right to sleep we were able to just put them down at the same time which made life much easier. We run loud white noise all night and I used to remind my toddler to give the baby a minute or two to settle down if she cried and not yell for me immediately and she was good about that.
They really never wake each other up at night. Both of them have screamed bloody murder at times and the other sleeps right through it. Dd2 didn't sttn until 16 months and it really wasn't an issue at all.
It's kind of funny but it's just the last few weeks at 4.5 and 2 that they've realized they can goof off together at night before going to sleep. It's cute and annoying! They love sharing a room and eventually when we move them upstairs to the bigger room they'll still share.

Thank you! Sounds like now that they're older bedtime is a special moment between the two of them. I appreciate your response!!

Re: Sharing a bedroom?
My oldest was 2 when our baby was born. We kept the baby in our room until he began sttn regularly. Once he began sttn, we would put the baby down at 7 & once he was out, he was out. We read our 2 year old a story in our bedroom & them he would go into their shared room 30 min later. No issues with them waking each other.

Re: Sharing a bedroom?
My kids share and room and normally have no issue (they are two years apart). They actually wait for each other in order to go to sleep.
I did opt to get a mini portable crib for my bedroom instead of a bassinet. If the baby for some reason is having a bad night I bring him to my room.
