sharing a bedroom

Anyone have a newborn and toddler share a bedroom? We are trying to sell my house and really don't have the extra money to make a new room right now. Ds's room is pretty big but not sure if I want to put a newborn and toddler together.. If you do this, is it that bad? does one always wake up the other? Also we would try to keep the newborn in our room in the bassinet as long as possible..

Re: sharing a bedroom

My boys share a room, they are 21 months apart. I kept #2 in in bassinet for 4 months bc he was still getting up a few times for feedings. but once he was sleeping for longer stretches, we first tried some naps in the crib, so it wasnt strange. Then we transitioned him to the crib at night.

for the first few months, my older one went to bed first, then the little one. Then we switched them.

What did help was that #1 is an excellent sleeper, if he gets woken up, he rolls right over and goes back to sleep.

Yes, sometimes they wake eachother, but for the most part, they both sleep until 7 everyday.
