For those that supplemented
I'm due with my second in a few weeks. I'm started to get nervous about nursing this time around because I will have a 17th month old also. I breast fed her for 6 months and pumped til 8 and it was impossible to switch her to formula. I don't want to have the same problem so I was thinking about supplementing from the beginning. Is that possible without messing with my supply? How would I do this? Do I give breast then some formula? Do I give 1 feeding breast then the next formula and pump? Any advice will be greatly appreciated!!

Re: For those that supplemented
I think you might be overthinking things a little bit and worrying before you need to.
I had to supplement with both kids but that was because they weren't gaining weight in the beginning and I had some supply issues. I wouldn't know how to start out that way.
If you are worried about transitioning down the line then maybe have someone try offering formula instead of pumped if you ever go out early on but I think you need to see what the feeding pattern is and how your supply is before you even think of altering it to try and solve a problem that hasn't even happened yet many months down the line.

Re: For those that supplemented
I supplemented. I had twins and then a 3rd. I breastfed all 3, but supplemented too. Mainly because I was exhausted and didn't have the time to sit and nurse all day long.
Did it right from the beginning. Never had any issues with any of them. I guess it was because they didn't know any different :)Used Playtex drop-ins for the bottles.
I alternated, so I did one feeding breastfed and the next formula. At night I pumped right before bed and gave them that during the night and formula for the next feeding. By morning, I was so engorged, I couldn't wait to feed. If it really hurt and they were sleeping when I got up (by some miracle), I just pumped because my boobs hurt so much.
I did it for 3 months until I went back to work and then just did formula.

I supplemented with my twins. I did it right from the start. I would pump during the day during any free time (ha haa free time!) and alternate between breast milk and formula for each feeding

Ditto! I did it til I went back to work after 3 months and then formula fed.

Thank you! I plan on supplementing from the beginning this time and this is helpful!!

For those that supplemented
I started supplementing Asst 3 or 4 months. It was just her first bottle of the day. Maybe there was a second if I didn't pump enough our had a longer day or frozen wasn't available.

Re: For those that supplemented
I BF and gave him a bottle right after from day 1. He has grown into quite the little chunk! I wanted to make sure he was eating enough
